A couple of nights ago, I had a dream I was drowning, I asked what it meant, and they said I was overwhelmed by something, so I sat down and prayed, and as I prayed, with each question I asked Him, I could almost feel the answer. And I knew he loved me.

How does God talk to you? Are you listening?

Well, The term "agnosticism" was invented by Thomas Huxley around 1869.

1800 YEARS AFTER JESUS.

Religion was here thousands upon thousands of years before anyone decided to question God.

Hey Agnostics, Skeptics and Atheists, what do you say about that?

Fellow Christians:
If you are tired of the haggard, self-defeating, angry, offensive questions that atheists on this site post...stop answering them!!! They are just trying to get a rise out of us.

If the question seems like a BONAFIDE question, please answer, but stop ARGUING with people who have no desire to know anything. Remember, Jesus Himself said to not cast your pearls before swine, meaning:
Don't waste precious time on people who don't really want what you have to offer.

Whether you believe it or not, biblically Methuselah was the oldest man to ever live at 969 year,s but does that also make him the wisest? Does age = wisdom, considering all the changes he must have witnessed, what if we lived 900 years from now -what would we see? pure chaos? a utopian society?

Someone responded to one of my questions asking “Why do you say ‘IF’ God exist, why not use facts?” That made me think, since some scientific theories are more factual than others yet BOTH are still used to formulate proof, then what’s wrong with using the theory of the Biblical God to formulate proof? There is plenty of known history and records of some people’s personal experiences to at least establish the works of the Bible as Theory, (a plausible fact.)

Who wrote Genesis?

Without going into the greater theological question: "was it the word of God?" (which would be more contentious), can anyone tell me who the first person was to write this down, and how they came to know the story of Adam and Eve etc.

Doesn't the Bible tell you you are going to hell if you practice magic Christians?
Prayer= Getting in touch with divine forces
Magic= Manipulating diving forces into giving you something.

I read this in a nationally selling Christian religion textbook, and confirmed it with my priest, and other Christians.

Oops, left out the last part of the first one. Getting in touch with divine forces to manipulate them into giving you something, such as grades, help in marriage, stronger faith, etc.

So why do you practice magic by another name?

I'm an Atheist and I find that a lot of other Atheists can be just as closed minded as religious fanatics. I agree with the Theists (up to a point) that just because you can't see it, it doesn't mean it isn't true. I try my best to keep an open minded perspective on all issues. I'm not great at it, but I do try.

So, just for a bit of self-analysis, how would you rate yourself on a 1-10 on being open minded?

1 being set in stone. 10 being open to all ideas. 10 doesn't mean that you'll believe what they say, but just hear it out indifferently.

A lot of pagans seem to have a sort of bifurcated monotheism: one god and one goddess, perhaps seeing them in different aspects in different gods and goddesses, rather than being literally different. Sort of like what Christians do with the Trinity. So do we need a word like bitheism to describe this belief? (If so, I may call myself a bitheist instead of a pantheist. I'm still thinking about it.)

I don't see why so many people (atheists) question God. Would they rather believe in Satan than believe in God? As a Catholic, I don't see how anyone can think that being a Catholic or a Christian is worse than being an atheist. Do they not care that they aren't going to heaven? I was just wondering what your thoughts were...I don't want to start any arguments or controversial things or anything of that matter!

I want to ask as we all struggle, are you struggling today ? I found this song and it blessed me, what song blesses you a lot in times of trial ?
If you google it you can hear it too :)

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
O soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There's light for a look at the Saviour,
And life more abundant and free.

Refrain
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His Glory and Grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion -
For more than conquerors we are!

Refrain

His Word shall not fail you - He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell.

I'm not saying all atheists are like this, most atheists mind their own business and respect other people's beliefs. But there are some atheists who say that religion is silly and stupid, and are always trying to inculcate others with their beliefs. I like to call them "evangelical atheists". Evangelical atheists often criticize christians for evangelizing, and accuse them of "cramming their beliefs down people's throats". But it seems to me that Christians and Evangelical Atheists have a lot in common, they both try to inculcate others with their beliefs. But christians do that because they believe people will go to hell unless they're christians. But atheists obviously don't believe in hell, so i can't help but wonder why they find it necessary to evangelize. Even if religion is indeed just "myths" as so many atheists claim, why does it bother themso much if anyone believes in them?

Jesus told the rich young man to sell all he had and give the money to the poor. Acts recounts how early Christians pooled all their resources and lived in socialistic communes. On the other hand, Jesus told parables about shrewd investors and managers who cut deals. Is Christianity more consistent with capitalism or socialism?

Is it possible to create fire?
I was thinking. We can all see heat like on the road on a hot day or just above the fire. Like heat waves. And fire is the heat waves just more concentrated right?
So my question is can we focus heat energy enough to create fire? Almost like the Buddhists that dry wet towels on their body.
And if you think that it is possible, do you think im on right track?

i have asked a few questions about magic, and in many answers i have seen that people said that i would be selling my soul to the devil, that magic is bad, that i should not try it, that i was too childish, and in others it said that magic has nothing to do with religion, or with God, and that i should try it. my last answer was think about it before u start.

im thinking, but i cant really make a desicion! i need answers from people who practice it, and please only SERIOUS ANSWERS! thankyou!
PS if by any vcase i start doing magic, i want to use it for good, and yes, i do believe god is the only one who has real powers, but i want to use "magic" as in a way to help others, im NOT trying to harm anybody.

"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

Exodus 20: 4-5 (King James Version).

Note that those are two prohibitions. not one.

Traditionally The term "Christian" has appied to Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans Methodists, Presbitarians, Episcopalians, and alll the other Mainstream Ptotesrant groups.
Todays new radical groups , an American phenomena, do not believe the same things as the traditional groups yet they take their name.
Wouldn't it make sense for them to choose a new name?
Any suggestions for a new name?

to be an atheist than to be a Christian? I am Catholic and i seriously do not see why people would rather be Atheist and not believe in God. Honestly, its true that if you don't believe in God then you won't get into heaven. I just don't see how people can once be Christian and they switch over to being Atheist and saying they don't believe in God anymore...any thoughts? I don't want to cause any controversy or anything I was just wondering!

I received this prayer in my online daily study and wanted to share it. If you have one you want to share, please add yours, I thought this one said so much because it is all about becoming a vessel for God

PRAYER:
Almighty God, thank you for making Jesus so accessible to me.
Jesus helps me see the full extent of your love. Jesus helps me
more completely understand your message about wanting to redeem me
and make me your own. I want to always come to Jesus for truth,
grace, refreshment, and hope. There is no other one that I want to
be my Lord except my crucified Savior, Jesus. Today, Father, gently
confront me in those areas where I have yet to fully yield to your
Son's lordship in my life. In the precious name of Jesus I pray.
Amen.

Ok, some of you read my "Angry" question, well more of a Angry venting, but I have calmed, collected my thoughts, and would like to apologize to the wonderful Christians that I may have offended. Also, to my fellow brothers and sisters, who I represented in the matter.

I just feel that some of you don't give others a fair shot or the respect to have the same passion you feel about your faith, in our/their own. We love as you love, neither one is wrong, so what's the problem? It's frustrating...extremely frustrating. I know there are tons of people, including my fellow brothers and sisters, who hide behind these Yahoo Avatars and spread hatred and prejudism just for kicks. So I know I shouldn't generalize Christians as a whole.
