I'm Catholic so don't think I'm bashing here. I love being Catholic. I love the Eucharist and the Rosary and Sacraments and all that. The religion itself is beautiful. But the people are ruining it. It's becoming a known fact that Catholics are rude and judge everybody whos not like them. The only Catholics I can actually get along with and see to have truly good faith are the converts coming from other faith. I really like them. And this whole sin thing is getting to be too much. Do this or else you've committed a mortal sin. Don't do this or else its a mortal sin. At this rate we're all going to hell if we dont become like nuns. You can enjoy life and still follow the way of Jesus. Get real. I'm thinking more and more about taking a look at other faiths but I would hate to abandon my religion. What should I do? Is it just me? Or is the Catholic Church really becoming a mess. Especially now that Benedict is changing everything JP2 worked so hard to make. Pray. Think. Answer. God Bless

that the majority of the discussion here is about whether or not god(s) exists? I think that is a vast improvment over, say, 50 years ago.

Although it's frustrating that we won't see an end to this particularly bloodthristy superstition in our lifetime, we can at least rest assured in the knowledge that future generations can enjoy the benefit of the groundwork we are laying for them. That's if the religious people don't kill our entire species off in the meantime, of course!

Imagine how frustrated people like Galileo must have been, but we can look back now and shake our heads at the way he was persectued.

What do you think?

There has been much confusion about John 3:6. What exactly does "born of water" mean? I have had many explanations - everything from amniotic fluid to infant baptism. The newest one brought to my attention was Eph 5:25 And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by baptism and GOD'S WORD.
What is your explanation about how these two verses corelate?

The RCC says Jesus set Peter up as the head of the church and the first Pope, but since neither of those guys probably even existed, that's a bit shaky . . .

The Greek Orthodox Church can trace ITS apostolic succession to Timothy, and hence from Paul, so they may actually be on firmer ground . . .

Yet any number of sects, schisms, denominations and cults claim THEY have the "One True Faith™" by virtue of a superior understanding of the Buybull, or some kind of private revelation . . .

Heathens, Pagans, and Wiccans all seem to understand that spirituality is personal and/or cultural . . . doesn't that seem more likely to be correct, generally speaking?

Since diety is such a big thing in any religion, for it is important for the people of that religion to know who their God is.

Not trying to offend anyone, just trying to see what everyone thinks of this, trolls are highly encouraged to keep away.

1 timothy chapter 3 states that a "bishop........should be the hisband of one wife" It is obvious that the apostle Paul condoned marriage for the clergy. The apostle Paul vs The Pope who would you believe.

I am Christian and I think hes adds a lot to our values as benefit concerts, teaching kids music, and being friendly. I think we can learn a lot from him. He truly is a follower of Jesus.

I NEED to know, in which museum is the skeletal remains of god, jesus & the rest of the clan. Clothing, nails, cross etc. I want to believe but... without this proof, it is difficult.

We have proof of many other famous dead people in our museums so, surely gods remains are somewhere i can go visit.

Isn't that unchristian?

I'm referring to people who think that they're going to heaven and other people aren't going to heaven.

from a previous question, i noticed many Atheists say that they don't believe they have soul!
so that makes sense! if you don't believe in YOUR OWN SOUL that exist within you, then how can you believe in God. oh man, you really are far away...

and just to make sure, how about Anger, emotions, and feelings. do you disbelieve in those ones too? or no as well?

We are only telling the truth! Jesus is the only true God! He is the God almighty and Savior! You may be scared of the truth for to a person that don't believe it scares them and messes up there lifestlyes. What we tell you about God's word. Is all true and we do not judge or hate! A true christian has love. For love comes from Jesus! You think we are being mean. But we are only telling you the true facts. This is the truth for us all. Where we are willing to accept it or not! You cannot get to heaven without Jesus! Jesus is the only way too heaven! Without Him there is only hell. Christians don't want no one to end up in hell. Thats why we witness to the lost about Jesus and tell the honest truth. To win souls to Jesus Christ! Also pray for the lost! You can think what you like about Jesus. Because that will be between you and Him. When you die! Jesus is the judge! Not me or anyone else. If you don't accept Jesus while you are alive. Then when you stand before Him.

is it wrong to call Jesus, the Messiah Jesus son of Mary?

[45] (Remember) when the angels said: "O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allâh gives you the glad tidings of a Word from Him, his name will be the Messiah 'Isâ (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allâh."

I am Christian , but I've noticed this one girl called "me" and "Ms. Lady" (both the same girl). She uses two avatars to boost her ratings and vote for herself, she spreads hate and intolerance and uses the guise of Christianity to back herself up.

I think she gives all Christians a bad name, Christians are not suppose to judge other people, but she does this frequently and takes bible passages to justify her hate and ignorance.

This is what she wrote about homosexuals...I do not condone their life style, but she posts things just to spread hate. I think she is a bad Christian.

Why do some Christians do this? Aren't we suppose to love everyone regardless of their life styles and not judge anyone?

How come there is NO proof? No burial site. No bones. No nothing. IF jesus & god are a true thing then how come no museum in the world has the skeletal remains or clothing or ANYTHING of proof?

2007-08-25 05:58:23 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous

I posted a question/challenge earlier (you can look it up if you wish). The response that hit me the most was an accusation that I'm not perfect. Well, I'm not. I'm a sinner 'till the day I die. What sets me apart and makes me a new creation is my devout belief in Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God. By devout, I mean that I truly believe what I say I do. Yes, I am weak, I make mistakes, and I sin. Any 'Christian' who says they don't are plainly put, phonies. I am truly sorry for any non-believer who has walked into a Church and been shunned. That IS wrong. I am truly sorry for those who have been talked about behind their backs. I will admit, I am guilty of doing that on occasion. No it's not something I'm proud of, but with God's help, I will do it less and less. You see, sins can be very bad habits, and they're hard to break.

And yes, I have studied many other religions (and there are more than 25), BEFORE I was a Christian. So no, I'm not entirely ignorant.
