Isn't that unchristian?

I'm referring to people who think that they're going to heaven and other people aren't going to heaven.

They feel this way because their understanding of the Bible is very limited. It's easy to parrot scripture after scripture with no real understanding. It's much harder to spiritually discern the real theme and message God was trying to convey to mankind. God has done his part and man must do his. It's called thinking.

Dear fredsmith2,

i think this question is viewed depending on how you view one gets to heaven.

A true Christian knows that they don't deserve to go to heaven anymore than anybody else. But a true Christian is also true to God's word and the Bible and the Bible declares that those who know Jesus are going to Heaven and those who don't are not. And a true Christian lovingly shares the message of Christ- so that those who do not know Christ can know Christ. They don't tout it that they're going to Heaven-- it's actually a sad thing when people you love are living lives that are hell-bound.

So sharing the message is not "un-Christian," but you do make a very relevant point that how a Christian shares that message is important! I can't change the message of the Bible- but i can most certainly be prudent and gracious about how i share it.

To think what you are saying is the message of the Bible. There are people going to heaven and there are people going to hell- and it comes down to the decision individual people make about Jesus Christ.

Kindly,

Nickster

That's what Jesus taught. He said I am the way the truth and the life. No one come to the Father but by me. The only way to heaven is through Jesus' atoning blood. Have you ever lied, stolen something or lusted? You see, no one can make it to Heaven because we are all sinners. And it isn't thinking we're better than others..it's that we are letting others know that they can't get to Heaven any other way.

Because they have not masterd self mastery. A matured adult Christian who is actually following Jesus would not play "better than thou" - those who do are still a bit in the dark. Jesus never did that, and he said "follow me". He did not say condemn all those who haven't decided to yet and go around acting better than thou. LOL Pride goes before a fall.

What a really uneducated question, what does me knowing I am going to heaven make think that I am any better than you.

That's what Christianity is all about. Its based on fear and ignorance. You have to abide by a strict set of rules to get eternal happiness, and if you don't, you go to hell. Doesn't sound like a very happy way to live my life.

That doesn't make us "better". It simply means that we're saved. Everyone is a sinner on the way to hell unless they believe that Jesus, who is GOD, died for our sins and rose again. If you believe, you go to heaven. If you don't believe, you go to hell eternally.
