As long as you confess all of the sins you can remember, God will still bestow absolution through the Priest on you for all of your sins, reported or not. Don't really worry about the confession, its never as bad as you think. Sometimes, the priest will be in a hurry, hear one sin, and then absolve you, it could happen to you too. You will likely also be in a group as well, sounds like CCD class or something? So in this case you will pray the confession prayers as a group and then singularly tell your sins and be absolved. Good luck

In the way that you confess, I dont think that God would see it as a cheat sheet. Perhaps someone who would try to wrongfully judge you for only trying to be thorough with whole heatedly confessing. God judges the heart. We earthlings judge according to the abundance of our hearts. In other words if someone said that you were cheating, its only because that's how they would cheat.

Read the first three or four verses of Romans chapter two and you will see what I'm talking about.

Just remember God knows what is in your heart. He knows if you are truly sorry for what you've done. I don't think it matters if you remember everyone of them, the important thing is just to talk to God and ask him to forgive you for anything you've done to offend him.

by the way you don't need to go to any priest. Your confession is between you and God. No priest can forgive sin, only God can. If you read the bible nobody went to priests for confession only to God. God needs no mediators. Sure a priest can say your sins are forgiven, but they might not be to God, which is the only one that matters. So I would just talk to God yourself and if you do you will have a more personal relationship with him

Absolutely make a list! See what causes the sin....For example, you might have issues with anger and that's why you scold your co-worker(s) until she/they is/are in tears. It's easier to avoid committing the same sin over and over as long as you reflect on the cause WITHOUT scrutinizing or psychoanalying yourself!!!!! You're not there to beat yourself up!

The Act of Contrition you say at the end is primarily something that you ad lib now...as long as you

Express remorse
State your trust in God's Love and forgiveness
State that you intend to try hard to avoid "the near occasion of sin".....So help me God.

Be at peace!

I can't see it as being a problem. It is a little harrowing going to confession and sometimes we forget, like you said, some important stuff.
I know many people from AA use a priest while working on their steps and know for fact they bring in lists.

Yes, it's perfectly all right to use a cheat sheet. I use one too, for the same reasons you mentioned, although I confess directly to God the Father since I'm not Catholic. God bless you!

No, it's not bad. You actually are worried about forgetting, and God wants you to be honest with yourself, and that comes first. Confession is for you. God already knows. Then after that, learn to forgive yourself. If God forgives you, then you have to learn to forgive yourself. What other people do is another matter. They too must learn the experience of how to forgive. Good luck!

Enter your closet and get down on your knees be ore the Lord in secret and he will bless you openly.

When man forgets God knows and he said cast all of your cares upon him for he cares for you.

I do list down my sins before going to confession, so I guess it's okay.

No you shouldn't have a cheat sheet you just ask forgiveness of all your sins and ask for forgiveness of the ones you know.
