A couple of nights ago, I had a dream I was drowning, I asked what it meant, and they said I was overwhelmed by something, so I sat down and prayed, and as I prayed, with each question I asked Him, I could almost feel the answer. And I knew he loved me.
How does God talk to you? Are you listening?

I was not asking wether you thought He was real or not. I was asking perfectly seriously whether you thought he taught in words. But why else would you be posting unless you wanted an argument.

God had created every thing from nothing....
yes our God talk in words that's because He creates it and learn our father Adam all the words and names...
but it doesn't mean that u can hear Him because this happened with only one man in the earth, the profit Mosey....
about us we don't hear our God we can feel His response of our prays.....and this depends on the relationship between every one and his God.........
you know the most amazing that," my God is your god is our God",that mean" He's my god alone and sharing this with the all people in the same time.."

In Meditation other wise I only here my Spirit Guide
Could it have been your Spirit Guide ?
A lesson in life look at all the angles from the outside in not just one point from the inside out : )
Drowning
To dream that you are drowning, signifies that you are overwhelmed by emotions or repressed issues that is coming back to haunt you. You may be proceeding too quickly in trying to discover your unconscious thoughts.
Sinking
To dream that you or something is sinking, suggests that you are feeling overwhelmed and that someone or something is pulling your down. You may be experiencing lowered self-esteem and confidence. Alternatively, some important and significant stage in your life may be coming to an end. Consider what is sinking and its significance.

The Bible indicates that God revealed His will to selected people through dreams or visions in Scriptures such as Genesis 8:12; 37:5-10; 1 Kings 3:5-15; Daniel, chapters 2 and 7; Matthew 1:20; 2:13,19; and Acts 10:9-16; 16:9. God may communicate through dreams or visions even today, but we need to carefully check any such guidance we receive with Scripture and godly counsel to be sure it is from the Lord. Anything which contradicts Scripture is not from God. Our minds and even Satan are capable of producing great deception in such subjective areas. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 shows that God has revealed His will to us primarily through His Word. It says, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Most certainly. The Bible tells us that He spoke directly with Adam and Eve - He hung out with them. They were friends. He spoke to David, and He spoke to Moses. Using words. As a one-on-one conversation. These days, I don't think He hangs out so much here. This place is loaded with sin. Instead He comes to us in dreams, in thoughts. The way I know it's Him is when I get an answer (or thought in my head) that is completely off of what I'd been currently praying about. Perhaps I prayed about this thing a couple of weeks ago. God's got to be really plain with me. If His Words are not obvious, I don't believe them. He knows I take a lot of convincing. We can't just believe everything we hear, now can we? katiefish <><

I have had God tell me a full sentence before. It came as a thought in my mind but I knew that's what it was. It was not an audible voice. One time it was Jesus Himself. He said "I have risen from the dead. I will take care of you." Cool huh. This does not mean psychosis. That is something Godless men assert because they have no personal experience with God. Many pastors have said that God guided them and in most cases it's obvious that He did because so many people were benefited by their ministry. Obviously there's kooks out there. That in no way negates that God can't ever speak to anyone.

YEs God will speak thru various means, and one is by speaking audibly. Sometimes it is with a soft voice and other times it is with a loud voice, as He tries to bring confirmation or conviction to us about things. sometimes He will just impress a thought on your mind, but you must know if it is God or the devil, as does it line up with the word of God??? Sometimes God will send ppl to us, or give us sitautions in live, to process and work thru. There are so many ways that God communicates with us. I have noticed that when one is truly serious about obeying God they will hear more and more from Him all the time. Obedience leads to blessing. great qestion. Not all have heard His actual voice, but more will when they begin to truly obey God. and oh yes I do listen. Why will He speak to us if we plan to ignore HIm?? Doesnt work that way, when ppl do that, they usually stop hearing God very often. Why give us new information only to have us ignore it???? God is intelligent, and He is God. Only God knows best in all things.

How God communicates with people is very fascinating. He communicates in many different ways to say the least. He uses circumstance situation, he uses dreams to get the message across in some cases (for example my dad had a dream where he was embraced with God), he uses other people around you to communicate and also through reading the Bible, and often times the issues that I have struggle with on a current basis, when I go to Sunday morning service, the sermon message usually "relates" to what I am going through with hardship.

When I talk to God I cannot say that it is in words, exactly.
It is "language", communication, but I cannot exactly explain it.
When I try to talk about what God told me I often feel as if I am trying to translate from one language into a different language, even though I could not tell you what language I am translating from.
I do not know if that helps. It looks and sounds kind of confusing to me, but, that is about the best I can explain it.
You know who you should be talking to about this, right?

I believe God talks in words. I hear him speak to me always. I have discussions with God in quiet thoughts. God has a voice.

It scares me that people get a 'feeling'.
Religion is not to be confused with emotion.
God talks to us through His 'word' ....the Bible.
