Traditionally The term "Christian" has appied to Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Anglicans Methodists, Presbitarians, Episcopalians, and alll the other Mainstream Ptotesrant groups.
Todays new radical groups , an American phenomena, do not believe the same things as the traditional groups yet they take their name.
Wouldn't it make sense for them to choose a new name?
Any suggestions for a new name?

I hear what you are saying.

Some of the most far out groups, like the strange Jesus camp folks who want kids to become holy warriors that worship and bow to a cardboard president, are not recognizable to me at all. It is difficult to believe, as one of those traditional Christian groups you mentioned, that I belong under the same banner as people with such alien beliefs.

I agree..the Christian name has been falsely used for every group and then the poor Christians gets the blame for everything that that so called group does that is not Biblical.
They like to use that term as well because they do believe Christ lived but they are not really Christians by Biblical and God standards but by mans.

It relies upon on the image you prefer to portray. in case your Dad is conscious Bob from a professional putting, it fairly provides to the effect in case you are able to %. up the telephone and as we talk enable them to appreciate you already know who you're chatting with. that's rather professional. If Bob is a chum, then it supplies the visual attraction of being close to to the guy you're chatting with by using apply of the guy's call. someone's call is the main significant element, once you employ it in verbal exchange greater then human beings tend to love you greater helpful. In an extremely informal telephone call or putting, employing someone's call turns into much less problem-unfastened as that's now no longer fairly needed. besides the fact that if, it won't possibly ever harm to assert "hi" on account that below maximum situations the caller in understood to be the single which ought to recent their call first. Beating the caller to it and already understanding their call will merely advance the situation greater.

I am also a born-again, Bible-believing Christian, Ladybyrd. And Catholic.

Methinks we need not a new name for the born-again evangelical contingent, but an end to their appropriation of "Christian" exclusively for themselves.

SILLY..... RABBIT.... TRICKS.... ARE..... FOR... KIDS...!

YOU.... ASSUME.... FACTS..... " NOT "... IN... EVIDENCE!

(Acts 11:26) And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people.= = = And the disciples were called = = Christians = = first in Antioch.

YOU.... use the TERM.... CHRISTIAN... " Only in the GENERIC.... PSEUDO..... CULTURAL... SENSE !"

NOT.... in the True Biblical Sense! ONLY.... Those BORN AGAIN.... are... Really.... TRUE... CHRISTIANS....!

And to the REST...... who do not Believe......

(Jude 1:17-18-19) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

(Jud 1:18) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

(Jud 1:19) These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Thanks, RR

"Christian" means 'follower of Christ', no particular denomination has a claim on the term, and there are many ways to worship...i thought "ignorant fundie" was the current cultural term...of course, i'd be interested in your definition of a 'fundamentalist' and 'new radical groups'...as well as the criteria you are using to assign different believers to their 'groups'...can we choose our own pews, or is there assigned seating as well?

I agree with with you, they should choose another name. Lots of people "use" the term Christian because they know they will attract more people.
In what they beleive it's not the issue here,it's a bussiness.

I only claim to be saved.
Catholic christian - you have to be kidding!!
You can't tell the difference between them and the lost( those who do not accept Jesus as Lord)You can find them in the same places and talk the same.dress the same.In other words the bible says we are to be a separate people from the world. With Catholics there is no difference between them and the world. This is my opinion as I see it .

oh by the way I am a born again saved person.John3:7
