One of my friends, not a Mormon, just someone into family history has emailed me a page from the Mormon website showing my late uncle has been baptized, given the Mormon priesthood and "endowed" - what ever that means in a Mormon temple on the other side of the planet.

This is a serious question, so please don't think I'm having a go at you.

In Mormon theology, has he been "converted to mormonism" - possibly against his wishes?

Do you now consider my uncle to be 'a dead mormon'?

I would really appreciate a straightforward answer that I can understand.

Interests you the most? Other than your own.
What religion do you find the most fascinating?

Im not asking what religion would you change to, because I would get answers like "I would never change" "none" blah, blah. blah.

My question is simply, What other religion are you fascinated by?

I was wondering what you think about the idea of past lives and if any of you have any stories or experiences of them.
My mum told me once when she was walking down the street with me in my push chair (I was three years old at the time) when we passed the doctors, I said "I got married here. I was wearing a blue dress and a pretty bonnet and we had a horse and carriage" the doctors used to be a church quite a while ago before it was changed. This makes me think I could have had a past life, maybe around victorian times as it was tradition then to be married in blue, as it was a sign of purity (virgin mary)
What are your experiences and thoughts?

In wicca and paganism there is no satan, demons,or evil.If you read about it you would realize that evil dosent excist.Im sure that some people have misused this religion causing you to belive its bad,and that seeing that the god in this religion could be mistaken for an evil creature because of some of the pictures and discriptions of him(ie the horned god).If you knew anything about the religon you would know that there is no devil, satan or demons. what are your thoughts on this..

i know what im setting myself up for.i realize that some people who are not educated about wicca and paganism are going to shout out evil.but i still want to see what your thoughts are..

1 John 3:6-10
6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Do you believe you can live a sin free life here on earth?

I am a bit trolly, I ask alot of inane trolly type questions. However, these rarely if ever get deleted. But when I ask a rather thoughtful yet challenging question it gets violated rather quickly. Why is challenging someone to not only believe and practice a thing but also to KNOW WHY they do such a bad thing?

If your belief is not up to the challenge is it worthy of your belief to begin with?

God's existance can not be scientifically prooved or disprooved since it's existence would go way beyond our scientific level of understanding. Those trying to disprove God's existence depend therefore on pyschology, sociology and anthropology to argue their point. But Richard Dawkins is neither a psychologist, sociologyis or anthropologist. So, he is supporting arguements that are not his field of study and using his reputation as a scientist to persuade people of their accuracy. Why should a pure scientist know anymore about the social sciences than the rest of us. It's not the field they study or work in.

I just got my temple recommend last Sunday (YAY!!!), and I'm going with my Young Women group to the temple to do baptisms for the dead (YAY!!!), and I was kind of confused as to what you do. Is it like a normal baptism? (I kind of remember mine, but it was five years ago, so not that well.) Are there any special things I should do? How should I dress--is it OK to just wear my school uniform shirt (a plain white or navy blue polo) and a dressy skirt? Or should I wear something fancier? Thanks in advance!

There are many specific, documented sightings, drawings, etc. of dinosaurs, many of them dating before 1841, when they were supposedly discovered.

The Bible mentions at least 3 dinosaurs: Leviathan (a fearless, coiling sea serpent), Behemoth (a land-dwelling giant creature with tail like a cedar), and a flying serpent (pterosaur).

Yet why does "science" reject this, refuse to explain it, and say there is no evidence? I am a scientist.

Is there anything you feel you can do to stop your self-fulfilling 'apocalypse' from affecting the rest of us? Can you get along at all?

Christians and Muslims seem to be the main combatants, but of course you both damn and demonize anyone who doesn't share either of your faiths, this makes you even more dangerous.

Can you do better? Pledge or not?.

I was brought up Catholic but recently lost all belief and now class myself as atheist. I do not believe in any deity or higher being.

However, recently when I`ve been upset by events in the news (or personal life) I`m finding it hard because I feel like I want to pray for someone i.e. somebody who died or is suffering.
But then I really ,really don`t think there is anyone to pray to and I feel even worse.

I suppose I`m trying to say that I find it hard sometimes without having the comfort of any type of god to appeal to in hard times.

Have any other atheists ever felt this way?
How do you cope when faced with tragic news?

I have always been to the Catholic mass and just don't go. I can't find it in me to go... I was raised in a Catholic school and my father I think believes in God- ANIYWAY what I'm asking is, when I was a teenager I was dating this guy who brought me to church with his family and dear Lord it was so enlightening. Instead of a priest, it was just a regular guy standing up there, talking about, of all things, celebrating WOMEN and then he moved on and the rest of his sermon was very positive, none of this doom and gloom that I was used to. Everyone had a little paper they were filling out that coincided with sermon... I know for a fact it was Christian, I think it may have been Baptist? Any ideas what kind of church it was?

I think these ministries are worth billions in cash and assets. They all preach God's wealth for us. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but wouldn't it be cool if one Sunday, instead of the 20,000 person congregation tithing, the ministry handed out a check to each member in the amount of $10,000? That would be practiceing what they preach, yea?

I just read the above article and though it would be interesting to see the various reactions to it here on R&S.

It begins talking about a Christian Teen Boy who said he had to stop listening to the Beatles!!!! The Beatles? The "All You Need Is Love" Beatles?

Please take a look and share any thoughts you may have with me and the rest of good ol' R&S.
