look at the support you're recieving! this is seriously a good idea, which I'm sure others have thought of, but it needs to be put into action.
I'm in, and obviously others are too. Perhaps you really should try to do something like this?

While pacifist atheists/humanists look on and wonder why they (religious people) couldn't come to their senses earlier...

And for politicians, what a simple way to boost their image without actually having an effect on the world's problems.

Your idea is laughable. As long as there are religions, especially those that have historically been in conflict with another and have ideas regarding enemies/holy war written into the holy scriptures (which themselves are remnants of a particular time in history that has nothing in common with now), people will always use these ideas as an excuse to go to war.

The fact that 99% of the believers of a religion are peace-minded means little as long as 1% find validity for their claims to "holy war" in the religious literature. Those who know better do not need an International Peace for all Religions Day to remind themselves of the pointlessness of war. those who are determined to act violently will not change their minds regardless of such activities.

There is only one way that will truly work to create peace. We must abolish inequality and poverty. There is a plan.

Religious prophets and social pundits have made various attempts throughout human history to eliminate poverty and inequality. There is only one human organization that has ever been founded on the premise of worldwide equality and the guarantee of food, shelter, clothing, and health care to ALL people. This organization has the proper formula needed to succeed:

The Worldwide United Foundation

This united effort is the last chance for our species to stop their decline and spiral into chaos, turmoil, and emotional and physical destruction. United, the people of the earth can solve their own problems and reinstate the preamble of their existence: We are free-willed beings with the ability to reason and use our free agency to establish our own individuality.

Maybe you should start by denouncing a couple of large Glasgow sporting organisations that have made millions over the years by privately encouraging hate bigotry and intolerance whilst making pointless public gestures.

I am dreaming of a white Christmas and suddenly it jump to the scene where all religious people meet together, holding hands, and denouncing violence and curse their followers that do violence in the name of their respective religion. And when I awoke and turn on the computer to this forum it is as if I am going into another dream. Oh !! wake up sleepy head . I should sleep less.

did hands across America change anything. the organisation needed for that is preposterously massive think local first their are interfaith dialogues going on but no coherent message comes from them that is not already spouted off at every turn by others. good idea but doomed due to peoples inability to talk about differences and decide on a course that is helpful to a wider community than a local one

Your heart is in the right place, but first we need to convince religious fanatics that the rest of the Universe is not doomed to eternal damnation because they don't believe in a certain way. I fear this will never happen. There are multiple religions in the world and each one thinks their particular set of beliefs is the only way.

Alla'UAbha!

I think that everything you said wass agood Idea, up unitl the part where you single out the people who commit violent acts on behalf of their religion, and God

In their eyes they are being righteous ,

More important than excluding someone you need to educate them

How bout reading the writings in everyones faith that promote acceptance tolerance and Loving thy neighbor.

Just my humble opinion

Include those of no religion, too. Some of them can be quite violent.

A simplistic notion. Unrealistic and without historical and political awareness. Good luck with it!
