This is a question that was covered last night at the Theocratic Ministry School. My daughter assisted with the assignment as a matter of fact. The title of the talk was How Does God's Spirit Help Us? and the scripture one of the responders cited from Romans was included. It says:In like manner the spirit also joins in with help for our weakness; for the [problem of] what we should pray for as we need to we do not know, but the spirit itself pleads for us with groanings unuttered. (Romans 8:26)
Yes there have been times when I was so distressed that all I could manage was "Please help me!" At times like these, Jehovah, by means of his holy spirit, reads our hearts and answers our prayers.
Another way that what to pray for will be given to you is through God's word the Bible. There are many prayers recorded therein and some of the words or sentiments may fit our circumstances and begin to give us a direction for our prayers. For example, because of your confidence in Jehovah's wisdom, you might look at David's prayer at Psalm 25. I have often prayed as David did at Psalm 25:4-5:Make me know your own ways, O Jehovah;
Teach me your own paths. Make me walk in your truth and teach me, For you are my God of salvation. Perhaps not those exact words each time, but those were my heartfelt sentiments that I might have had difficulty putting into words, had it not been for reading David's words.

Tell it like it is...its not as if He doesn't know already...confession means everything..even that you don't know what to say. Still, He wants you there with Him in prayer or He wouldn't have intructed and urged us toward it so much...scripture is litered with the term pray and prayer and literally means "to ask" or beseach, to search out God. Prayer is speaking to God. Why don't you just speak from your heart its honest and real. God listens to your heart not the ammount of words you say. Speak from your heart.

I've come to realize that with all the detriment, neglect and atrocities in the world, there's nothing more selfish than praying for something for yourself.
Remember, there's always billions of more people that have it worse than you do.

Of course sometimes I don't know what to say. I usually don't do the saying or the singing stuff. I just read their literature and watch.

Romans 8 tells us that in those times......the Spirit makes intercession for us in a language that only God can understans (not tongues.......let me clarify that)
I believe it's Romans 8:25-27 ?

Nope, can't say I have. I only speak from the heart. God already knows your thoughts and feeling anyway, so its just that simple, just speak from your heart and HE will do the rest. AMEN

Well, since your God is all-knowing and has a divine plan, why not just pray, "God, please do whatever it was you were going to do anyway, whether I asked or not."

THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT HOW TEARS TOUCH THE HEART OF GOD.
REMEMBER THE WOMAN THAT WASHED HIS FEET WITH HER TEARS?
HE THAT SOWS IN TEARS SHALL REAP IN JOY
