I have heard some grim things but maybe what I have heard is wrong. So what exactly do they do with their dead???

Have you tried comparing your life to the Beatitudes?

Poor in Spirit – not prideful – Humble before God and neighbors

Mourners who long to be comforted by the Holy Spirit

Meek – steadfast in following Christ – unshaken in your faith – yet not boastful in your ability to follow Christ.

Hunger and Thirst after righteousness – a desire for truth and to do good continually

Merciful – kind in your rebukes of others – forgiving all (not to the point of robbing justice)

Pure in heart – Man/woman of your word –chaste – intending to do good always

Peacemaker – Kind in word and deed – shunning contention (not shunning competition)

Calm in the face of persecution and revilings

I see that I have a lot to work on myself.

BTW I am Mormon and I consider myself Christian trying to become Christ-like

I don't understand how American young people can be brainwashed to lose their will and turn into "Hate Bombs".
They seems to abuse "Jesus" and turn him into "American Osama". If we believe that Jesus is the great savior,we should also believe that he doesn't need any "Army" to save or defend him.
Same ideology, different religion.
These people are an "insult" to God,to our Legal system, Democracy and Constitution.
Are these people suggesting we abolish our Legal System, create a Christian "Sheriah" let them run our Country and our lives?
Why not? do as the Iranian :Khomeny" did.
We all should know that "True God" will never ask us to hate or harm anyone,but the Satan will.
We need to defend our Churches against "Ungodly trends"
and let them preach love and human compassion for all Gods'children, and let the politicians do the politics.

Why i ask this is because when Christians talk about God they talk about someone that is an entity and refer to God as a him.
Everyone has a different point of view of what God is so maybe it is time we should find a different word for God to get away from the traditional meanings of God?

In my previous question, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... someone responded that when Jesus says to hate your parents and life, he really means “to love them less.” I have never heard anyone, including Jesus, mean “to love them less” when they use the word “hate.” What do you base your explanation on? Secondly, someone else said that hate means to “abandon all worldly concerns”? He says that it says this in “the manuscript.” Who wrote the manuscript? “Abandon all worldly concerns does not mean “hate.” The author of the manuscript is quite mistaken. My parents, wife and my children have been there for me; Jesus has not. The Bible tells me to hate them. Doesn’t he also say something about respecting your father? No one respects anybody that they hate.

umm... i suppose this question is out there for the freethinkers, but theists you can tell me if you do this yourself. because ever since i've become an atheist, i have gotten more emails ending in the words "god bless" than i ever had in my life.and i was christian for 15 years (if you count it infancy and childhood) and an atheist for 2. so that says something.

i especially get it a lot from people i don't know who are trying to convert me. and i'm not saying i get like really pissed off when i see those words. i get mad when people make snap judgments about me without even knowing me (i can see that you're searching for god, you seem angry maybe so you DO need god, etc), so before you say anything, no it doesn't really bother me. i'm just curious.

Why is it that people that don't even read the bible only talk about believing in the bible when it comes bashing homosexuals? Stating that homosexuality is a sin in the bible and that all homosexuals will go to hell. How do these people know this? They obviously have no knowledge of the bible or even their so called religion. I have been raised to be a Christian and although I don't go to church that often, I believe in God. First learn about your religion and study what is said in the books and then go around telling people they are living their lives in the wrong way. Who is to say what is right? Who is to say what is normal? All of these things are really starting to annoy me. Tell me where it says "homosexuality is a sin" in the bible. Provide me with page numbers and sections and I will read and tell you I am wrong if I am. Thank you.

I am reading a history book and it says this (It was published BEFORE 9/11 happened, so I believe it's view on islam will be valid):

at the age of 40 mohammed began to claim that he was recieving revelations from the angel gabriel. mohammed at first feared that he had lost his mind or become demon-posessed, but he eventually convinced that he was the specially appointed prophet of allah, his name for the one and only god, allah, said mohammed, is the same as the the one the jews and christians call god, i said mohammed, am allahs choice to bring to men the perfect and complete truth, i said mohammed, am the last in a series of prophets taht includes adam, noah, abraham, moses, and jesus. all who believe in allah and me and do all i teach, preached mohammed, will spend eternity in heaven.

Whereas over 500 people saw the resurected jesus christ, no one witnessed mohammeds supposed encounters with the angel, only mohammed saw the visions and heard the voices.

I don't mean this to offend ANYBODY so now that that's out of the way I will continue with my question...

Here are the facts:
1)God is a God of LOVE no matter WHAT religion depicts of him/her otherwise.
2)Jesus taught that LOVE was the greatest commandment, to turn the other cheek, and to love thy neighbor
3)Jesus taught that 'The Kingdom of Heaven is within YOU', so wouldn't that mean the kingdom of hell could be within you too?
4)Jesus preached against religion (do's and don'ts you HAVE to follow to 'make it') and not spirituality.
5)Could it be that God was sick and tired of all the killing of poor animals and innocent people and the stupid rules the OT followers made up in His/Her name so He came down in human form to teach us that we didn't have to do that anymore because didn't God even say that he knows even the sparrow?
6)Didn't God say that he would put the laws on our heart (not a book)? So then isn't our heart what we should let guide us and not some man made book?

God rejected the fig leaf aprons which Adam and Eve made (Gen. 3:21). Why do Mormons memorialize the fall by using fig leaf aprons in the secret temple ceremonies?

Secondly, I think that there are atleast 25 other faults in the Mormon beleif.
