A lot of what scientology teaches is every day knowledge.

Its like saying who actually believes in Satanism. If you look at what Anton LaVey wrote, you know that its every day knowledge. For instance a few of the Satanic Rules he wrote are:

*Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked. -
*Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
*When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
*Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
*Do not harm little children.

This is something we all live by, however the bible thumpers out there will feel otherwise.

Some of the tenets of Scientology are:
*A person is an immortal spiritual being (termed a thetan) who possesses a mind and a body.
*The thetan has lived through many past lives and will continue to live beyond the death of the body.
*A person is basically good, but becomes "aberrated" by moments of pain and unconsciousness in his or her life.
*What is true for you is what you have observed yourself. No beliefs should be forced as "true" on anyone.

Either way, both state something as most other religions do. Why do we feel the need to constantly put down other religions, etc..

If you want to talk about a get rich quick scam - Churches have been doing it for years - for instance - annulling marriages after 20 years claiming different things -- when it comes down to it, its all about the money.

Let's stop hating on other religons and other's beliefs. Everyone is entitled to believe what they want and how they want. The world would be a better place if people just learned to back off from other's beliefs.

Ive seen documentation that puts much worse comments to popes thruout history. :)

The anti-scietology sites quote something like 65% of the people just take the first two (cheapest) courses, then leave. Sounds less cultish than other religions I know.

Thats what I did. Take the Better Communicating course, and the Better Studying course. Both have done wonders for me. Anything else I saw there only seemed better than other churches.

Ok, it is romantic, or meant to be, and sure my husband and I do the sweet factor, however we wait til the ones enormous chocolate hearts move on clearance for four greenbacks... however Valentines day isn't a excursion particularly. It was once created through the cardboard persons and many others. to spice up the earnings. and from the appears of it, it is labored. It's now regarded a excursion. Truthfully, it is high-quality to be adored and showered with items for the duration of the 12 months. Not simply on Feb. 14th.

I'm by no means part of ANY religion but I can understand why some people believe in Scientology because they state fact in everyday life, physical fact, the belief in ourselves as a human and trying to improve yourself IE: reading, writing, self esteem and confidence. Working on yourself by yourself.
That documentary you heard of was probably made and edited by other religious groups, it's most likely false. They do go to those extremes!!

Well I can't believe that you believe that this supposed quote by L.Ron Hubbard is actually documented..
Show me the document !

It's hearsay.....rumor .... the stuff of urban legends....
But I guess some people will believe anything... especially when it is a false rumor designed to undermine another fellow human being.

Oh well , keep reading and believing those tabloids !

Where do these people come from? How do they not starve to death? How do they tie their shoes?

This is the problem I find with civilization, it allows even the unfit to procreate and pass their genes. We know full well their lines would have been extinct quite some time ago otherwise.

I don't think they're going to get this one, llah.

no one that has a brain or ridiculously overly inflated opinion of themselves such as t cruise . oh and enough money not to care about it flying into their greedy hands.
the last time someone posted a Scientology question that i answered i was subsequently emailed by several scientologists telling me all and everything regarding Scientology so the brainless are sadly more in number than we would like to think

Goodness gracious, not me. I'd rather suffer through a root canal than involve myself in a dangerous cult like Scientology.
