Do you believe in past lives? or do you have any memories of them?

I was wondering what you think about the idea of past lives and if any of you have any stories or experiences of them.
My mum told me once when she was walking down the street with me in my push chair (I was three years old at the time) when we passed the doctors, I said "I got married here. I was wearing a blue dress and a pretty bonnet and we had a horse and carriage" the doctors used to be a church quite a while ago before it was changed. This makes me think I could have had a past life, maybe around victorian times as it was tradition then to be married in blue, as it was a sign of purity (virgin mary)
What are your experiences and thoughts?

I don't really know what I think, honestly. Here's an interesting anecdote:

My mother was driving me out a road we'd never been out before to my new friend Kim's house when I was a kid. We passed this old creepy looking church camp with lots of small white cabins and my mom did a double-take and stopped the car in the middle of the old country road. She said she used to dream about being lost in that church camp, searching for her mother, every night when she was a kid. She said it wasn't a similar church camp, it was that exact church camp. Weird thing is that she didn't even live in that part of the country as a kid and would have never seen the church camp before.

Once, in a deep meditation, I had a vision of a wounded soldier, on horseback, riding along a road lined with other wounded soldiers, all walking in the same direction. When the soldier stopped and took out a flask from his saddle bag, just as he was about to drink from the flask, the inner voice said,"That's whiskey", all of the sudden it was like I just Knew this was me and it explained why I was so drawn to alcohol. This was a catalyst for me to stop drinking.

I do believe in past lives, as do many of the world's religions.

Early Christianity actually contained reincarnation teachings, but they were edited out of the Biblical canon in the Council of Nicea.

Most of us have had more past lives than we'll ever remember. In the majority of cases, any memories that you recover will likely be of you being just an ordinary person. Rarely will someone remember being someone famous, and since that's such a red-flag you'll need to do more research to find out if you're really remembering that, or if your subconscious is tapping into an archetype based on that personage to bring light to an important aspect of your current path. However the famous have to reincarnate just like the rest of us, so somewhere out there Cleopatra is running around in a new body. ;)

But I have distinct memories of at least 3 other lives: a warrior in Africa, a 16th century peasant girl in a Dutch village, a priestess-in-training of Inanna (actually that one was a pretty tragic life).

I've been told of 2 or 3 others that seem to resonate, but I have no memories of them of yet. One of them was that I was in India in the 18th or 19th century, as a member of the Ksatriya (warrior) caste, however I renouced my caste responsibiltiies and took up a spiritual life. That seems to make sense as I've been drawn deeply in Hindu spirituality. The warrior theme also seems to be recurring, and indeed I do have many warrior archetype aspects to my personality.

Past lives are tricky, in that you can become enamoured with the idea of them focusing too heavily on the past, and neglecting your present path. Memories of past-lives are removed for a reason, and when (and if) the time is right, certain aspects of them may be revealed to you to aid you in your present path. Often remembering them will come at a time when you need that past insight to make a breakthrough, or to reach a deeper level of healing - otherwise you can just get too caught up in your past mistakes, acheivements, finding lost loved ones, etc. Your past lives and your past lives - you're living the present one!

It's fun to glean insight from discovering past life details, but don't let it distract you from progressing forward!

And young children are commonly reported remembering past-life information - but they tend to quickly forget as the social programming takes over.

I didn't use to believe in this kind of thing. But after finding out that we all have our antitypes, it seems almost clear everyone was once alive, at the same time, when Abel claimed he was in the need of a mother.

I believe in past lives
that we (our soul) are here to learn lessons..
I have been told I have an old soul by different ppl (spiritual workers) they also told me about my past lives. I think it's not
necassary to remember them.. just live your best life.
