I do not belive in god due to the lack of evidence. The only so called "evidence" is in the bible which is a religious source. Hence the fact i dont belive. If your going to tell me"Your wrong", then do tell me, is there and evidence that isnt from a religous source??????

And list the sourse if you have one. =]

Hebrew scholars have known for centuries that the first 5 books of the bible were written by 4 different authors living in different periods of time centuries after the time of Moses.

If the church honestly didn't know who wrote them, why should these books be considered reliable?

"uh..uhh..if their was a God,than why are African's starving.."

You should know if you studied Islam/christianity before going astray. Give a good solid reason why.

I have met so many people that agree that mormans are dope, like this really nice girl at my school that is always like smiling and stuff is a morman that's why I even considered the religon besides people telling me they are crazy.
Is there some natural high they get from praising their God or something? lol not to be offensive but I don't notice this with that many other types of Christians

an emotional exploitative medium designed to make you feel good and sucker people into churches?

Pentecostal/charismatic churches are masters of this craft, with all their mind numbing emotionally luring music. Plus the long time the congregation singing an endless stream of songs, with a lot of repetition of key verses/choruses combined with long services that are designed overall to wear you down to make you susceptible to their suggestions. The music is nothing but a highly organised and disciplined scam. Plus the constant turnover of new songs "(singing a "new song unto the Lord"-gosh I got sick of hearing that line peddles) that are designed so that individuals don't get desensitized to the same songs, but rather, the emotional manipulation always remains fresh.

And the moron lyrics in pentecostal/charismatic churches. Jesus ain't your saviour brothers and sisters. He's your bestest friend, your penpal, your lover, the guy you take to the prom..........

Yuk!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my parents decided that they cant afford for me to continue going to a christian school anymore, and I hate public schools because of how awful they are, and my mom doesnt think that I have enough will-power to do home-schooling, but I think I do but I dont know how to prove that to her, I also would appreciate any other suggestions you all have. I really want this to work out.

I'm going to take one more stab at this . . . *sigh*

The standard rationale seems to be based on a bible verse claiming that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." I'd like to take issue with that---

1. There are many gods. Even the god of the bible admits this . . . and I follow *other* gods. Applying biblical ideas of sin to ME is like Hindus blaming YOU for not burning enough incense to Krishna or something, isn't it? Or condemning artists for not being engineers?

2. Doesn't "fallen short of the glory of god" seem like an unrealistic standard, given that the god in question defines himself as "perfect?" This seems like a classic Catch-22 to me: he creates an inferior species and then blames them for his shoddy handiwork? Would you think a boss was fair who assigned you tasks for which you did not have the tools?

3. EVERY human, honest trait somehow gets redefined under this system as "sin" . . . why, I have to ask, should I feel guilty about pleasure?

So i know i should go see a priest for this but i figured any advice would be worthwhile.

Ive gone to church pretty much all my life but never feel spiritually enlightened. I see it as a good activity to do with my family. When im at school i dont really go to school and I often question a lot of the rules the Roman Catholic church follows. (no roman catholic church bashing please) I want to get in touch with god but i just havent been persuaded and sometimes i find myself jealous that people are so into god. Does anyone have any ideas?
