Religion & Spirituality - 8 August 2007

I mean each religion practices in a different way and have different belief systems. So who is right? Is there more than one God or are we all right in our own beliefs. If we are all right in our own beliefs than how can there be any religion that condems or puts down another religion? I know a lot of hard questions?

Does anybody know of a company that makes umbrellas that could survive a rain of fire? Also, do not give me the name of companies owned by heathens. I am only interested buying from people who unwaveringly believe in the one and only true God.

As you can tell by my name i am a devote Catholic, and i am horrified but what i see. You so called Christians are being so rude to these Atheist. You call yourself Christians but yet you forget our teaachings from Christ. " Turn the other Cheek," Atheists are rude to you because YOU are rude to them. By being so pushy and mean to them, your pushing them farther from God. And if they never believed in God well then by being so rude your giving our religion a bad name. Christ himself was nice to gentiles. Why can't you be nice to Atheists?

I am a Wiccan witch. I follow an eclectic path. And I work as a solitary. I believe in a Goddess as well as a God, and I believe magick works. Don't get into the spelling of magick argument, that's not what I'm here for. Don't try to convert me either, I am happy with my religion. You can tell me I'm too young to decide on a religion, but I don't think you're too young to if you can understand the religion. I feel right following this path, and if I find one that makes me feel happier, than I will probably choose that path. Until then, your thoughts on my religion? Thank you for your time.

If people aren't allowed to change the Bible, why were the Gospels of Thomas and Mary, among other, kept out of the "final version?" An interpretation of Revelations would suggest that all of the Gospels should've been included. Hypocrisy?

I cannot understand how a single cell can come into existance that meets the three criteria for life---respiration, irritability, and reproduction. After that, some of the cells evolve into trees, others become a fish, some become a giraffe, or an armadillo...how does this happen in the absence of a Creator?

I've heard so much argument over what Hitlers religion was. I'd like to know: Who cares? Is it an accurate representation of all Christians/Atheists alive today? Do people just want to know so when they get into an arguement they can say "Hitler was a Christian/Atheists." and it will make Christians/Atheists look bad?

You know that what you are can't be something you're observing or who would the observer be? So you can't be body, thought or feeling.

Position yourself as the observer of thought and feeling. Notice that there are thoughts about the thoughts and feelings that happen. These thoughts are still mind thinking, and so you are not the observer either but mind positioned as such.

Back up and notice the silent witness of this observer. This witness is not thinking or feeling, and in fact it's not 'aware of' thought/feeling happening. It's simply present for it.

This witness is Awareness in which thought/feeling happens; in which consciousness happens. It is present even in deep sleep when consciousness is absent. Awareness is not 'aware of' this because the 'aware of' function is consciousness, but it is possible for Awareness to be aware of itself. This is Self Awareness, which is what Enlightenment is. It does not happen to a person. There is no person.

The world is full of psychic vampires - from the religious to the secular intellectuals , in subtle disguises. Have you notice - all these people who have an energy-draining effect upon you ?
Some of them are very active on YA and their answers they give you. Some of them will email or call you on the telephone and upset you with their troubles. Soon you feel worn out listening, while they go away feeling better!
The sustenance of their lives is the upsetting reactions they cause in others.
There is a simple explanation for this. Negative people are the "children of darkness", who feed like fungus upon other decaying forms of life. They feed on fear and negation. Your fear and emotional upset gives them a malicious thrill-but causes you to "decay" in your disobedience to the law of patience and love.

okay...so various religions and civilizations have predicted the Apocolypse. The Mayan prediction is very near in 2012 i think...maybe...but the point is, say the apocolypse never comes. And all religions were wrong including Atheists...becuase eventually something will destroy us all. Then wouldn't everyone feel stupid knowing they wasted their whole lives preparing for a day that would never come??? I know it would make me a little upset, but im not going to go crazy over it. I will still belive in God, and just believe that He will come someday... your takes on it?
