I don't like public nudity but I think it's just because of childhood training. A cultural bias?

So, in Christianity, there is no soul recycling, so there are more and more souls over time. Where do they come from?

Are souls always separate or do they all come from a common soul-well?

Does the union of two souls on earth act as a spark to start a new soul?
Perhaps it pops into existence from some other realm like nightcrawler, or perhaps the spark acts as a magnet, drawing soul materials to it until it forms a complete soul. If so, could you determine a child's future goodness depending on the love between their parents(a stronger love perhaps creating a stronger soul-stuff magnet?)?

Are all souls identical? If not, does god choose which one goes where, or is it random?

Just wondering about general opinions on soul stuff. I don't care if you use logic, knowledge, or opinion. You don't really even need to keep it in reference to Christianity, though that is where my question sprang from.

Religion is learned ever since infancy and no one on this planet comes out the womb thinking "God created me". This is where Religion fails... enough said.

Also, death is permanent. If he arose from the dead, then, by definition, he never really died, so where's the sacrifice? I think the entire story is a pant load, but, can you convince me that I am wrong?

I grew up mormon, but most of that is behind me now.

I am currently reading Michael Baigent's "The Jesus Papers" and I am alarmed by all the deceptions, cover-ups, corruption and destroyed records and documents of the early Christian era. I don't accept all of Baigent's theses, yet some of them fit the secular history.

I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of loss of these things, for there are some pieces of history may never know. I already possessed this feeling, but it gave me somewhere specific to direct that feeling. I suspect that many others feel this loss of history, subconsciously or otherwise; and I say this from an archeological/historical point of view.

So here is my specific question to mormons, especially converts: Does mormon dogma fill this 'void' or loss for you, and if so, how? There is no factual evidence whatsoever that supports the claims of the book of mormon or most if not all of the 'prophesies' of Joseph Smith.

Okay, R&S, I was at the park, lying down on a bench, reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows for the third time, when a lady jabbed me in the shoulder.
She told me that Jesus would punish me for reading Harry Potter.
I told her she should read the book before saying it was evil; I mean, the good-overcomes-evil, love-conquers-all themes are thrown around like crazy.

She told me she doesn't read "hell books" because she's a "good Christian." She then proceeded to cause a scene by yelling (and I'm not exaggerating here) that I was a worshiper of hell, will burn in hell, etc.
In a park. Full of people and children.

Discuss:
Has anything like this happened to you?
How did you react?
Harry Potter and how amazing it is.

And anything you want to share, go ahead.

Some of you on here do nothing but complain that Christians (or other religions) always try to force our religion down your throat. But, I mean, this is the Religion and Spirituality forum....why do you hang out in here only to show your hate and discontent for religion? And complain about those that talk about religion in a religion forum? I personally do not care about your lack of belief but why be so hateful? Please be an adult when answering. Have an intelligent discussion for once. Having a lack of belief does not mean lack of intelligence.

“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV)
"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)
That is as clear as it gets!
I don't care if you say Jesus died for us and we no longer apply to those rules or not, Jesus cleary SAID NOT to disobey them. Or do you Chrisitians admit that Jesus is contradiciting himself?
Jesus said that He wanted everyone to uphold slavery, murder, rape, and all evil things!
He said it, READ the verses!
You got two choices:
1) Admit the verses.
2) Deny them and say you are under grace bla bla bla...but also then accept the fact that Jesus is going back on His words and is CONTRADICTING Himself!
