They will say because God said so, without good reason. I wonder why they think God gave us sex parts only deny us using them. Why is he so concerned with our reproductive habits? Does he get a big pain each time we do that or something?

now that I'm older I want to know more about why it's actually wrong. - The concept began about 1000 years ago when the church discovered they could control people through sex. They made sex outside of marriage a sin and sex within a marriage a sin if you did it for anything other than procreation and you did not have a priest present. About that sametiem they licensed all of the brothels to the church. So it is ONLY tocontrol people. even if a woman is really well protected when having sex, no matter how well protected she thinks she is, there is still a chance of her getting pregnant - The most common way to die is in a car wreck, I suspect you are not going to stop getting in cars. - A little story for you. I briefly dated a girl and sex with her was the most disappointing and generally miserable even of my life at that time. Had I waited until marriage to find that out, one of us would have been dead or long gone before a year was out. Personally, waiting is one of the most frightening things I can think of.

There are a lot of "normal desires" that are morally wrong.
Sex is more complicated than people think. It isn't something that can be entered into lightly without having an impact on the participants. You can think it's not hurting you but you can't always see the damage.
In addition to the psychological and emotional damage that can be suffered from casual sex with large numbers of people there are known physical risks. "protected" sex is a myth; condoms prevent no STDs and fail in a variety of ways a large percentage of the time.
But let's talk about normal desires. When I'm driving and someone is doing 35 in a 65 mph zone I have a "normal desire" to run them off the road. I don't understand why I can't just do that.
Our prisons (and streets) are full of people who have a "normal desire" to have sex with little kids. What's the big deal? They should be able to do that.
I have a "normal desire" to have money, food, shelter, a big TV and a Wii. If I see someone else who has these things I should be able to take them. After all, it's a "normal desire".
"Normal" or "natural" desires aren't a good basis for morality. You need to think a little deeper than that.

"all it is, is a normal desire right, how in the world could it be so wrong to them?" -- Who said desires are okay? If someone desired to kill someone would it be okay just because people get desires?
Premarital sex is still premarital sex no matter what your age, and if the Bible says it's wrong then so be it.
It's something special to be shared between a husband and wife and of course to make babies.

Protected? You mean like sex in prison? Gotta ask Bubba, he knows all about that.
But seriously, you can still get an STD, and what about the emotions, the stress, and, oh yeah, the sin? Most people view sex, even today, as a commitment which has great pain involved, (emotional) when the other person does not see it that way. This happens every often to women. They lose respect for them selves, etc.

I'm a Christian (Mormon), and in my relgion, we believe that God created sex as a way to bring life into the world. It is the power to procreate, and must be handled in a delicate way. Protected sex doesn't mean anything-you can still get pregnant. It just means your chances of getting pregnant have been lessened.
Sex is also the ultimate way for husbands and wives to express their love for one another. Having sex is a huge thing-something that you shouldn't do with just anyone. It should be with your eternal companion.

i am also a somewhat pagan and i've always liked having an intelligent convo with others in my beliefs
I really don't understand it either.. and i know i'm not doing any good posting w/o posting my opinion so here it goes...
Sec is so natural and beautiful so i don't understand what is wrong with it either ( as long as everyone involved is willing and happy about it) but there are diseases so protection is a must for anyone that you do not know
It's natural animal instinct

It's less about sex and more about a loving relationship and family. God didn't design people to randomly have sex. It's supposed to be a husband and wife joined together to raise a family.

Because if a man marries a woman who is not a virgin, you can have her stoned to death.
Deuteronomy 22:20-22:
"But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."

cause they believe you should 'save yourself for your husband'. If you aren't married, you don't have a husband. (or wife, whatever.)
Of course I always thought that it isn't really premarital sex if you have no intention of getting married. lol. In any case, you should test drive the car before you buy it.
also, if you are married...you are supposed to be married from then on out....so after you are married, you will always be married and having sex with your husband. Hey I don't agree with it, I'm just explaining.
