All religions use the placebo effect. If you believe them then they will be true about 25% of the time. Thats what the Drug Companies base their research on. They give the drug to one group and a sugar pill to the other.. The group that got the sugar pill will experience relief 25% of the time just because the "victim" thinks its a cure. Therefore if the drug doesn't do better than that it is not effective.
Its the same with religions except one out of four will get you some good contributions especially if you throw a whole lot of guilt in there, and burn a few witches or put people in torture chambers for not believing. So there is no fradulent religion, just a bunch of dum f&(^s ripping off quantom physics and calling it "The Way" or "The Light."

What religions are based on Christianity? There are a lot of sects to the Christian religion. This doesn't mean they are seperate religions based on christianity, it means they are all different forms of christianity. (2 completely different things) Catholics, Baptists, Protestants, Lutherens . . . . . these aren't seperate religions, they are still Christian. The same as the 50 states aren't seperate countries that make up the USA, the are all parts of the USA.
Why is it that athiests feel the need to find new ways to say "I don't believe in God" but never do any homework before making their arguments? Your ignorance just makes your question that much more ridiculous, and everyone's answer that agrees with you.
Give me all of the thumbs down you want and rip on me, but that doesn't change the fact that your question is just factually inaccurate.

Why not start by questioning the religion of the ancient Egyptians or Greeks? Have they been proven to be false? What is Christianity based on?

Only if the element in Christianity that makes it fraudulent is consistent within those religions that are based on it. That also applies to preceding and branch off religions such as Judaism and Islam.

Depends on how far back you go and what part you consider fraudulent.
Islam believes that Christ was not the son of God, but a prophet who did not die on the cross.
Jews believe that the Messiah has not come.
Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) believe that many truths of the original church that Christ established were lost and were not able to be restored, in spite of the efforts of many great men. They believe that Christ himself came back and sowed the seeds to start making it all right again.
Which ones would be proven fraudulent if all Protestant churches were deemed to be false?
None of them.
That would leave almost 2 billion people free to worship without the wrath of Al Shaitan. :-)

This question would make more sense if you said Judaism. So if Christianity was proved false would that make all religions based on Christianity false? logic is not you're greatest strength is it. You do realize Christianity only refers to religions in which Christ is seen as the primary prophet right?

Well, Al, Christianity isn't a fraudulent religion. There are no religions based on it. So save yourself a lot of time and find something better to do.

First of all, Christianity has never, nor ever will, be proven fraudulent. Because it isn't. God is real, start with that and build on it.

all religions based on Christianity are fake. the Bible specifically commands us to not add to the word, not be divided, and speak the same thing.
