Some of you on here do nothing but complain that Christians (or other religions) always try to force our religion down your throat. But, I mean, this is the Religion and Spirituality forum....why do you hang out in here only to show your hate and discontent for religion? And complain about those that talk about religion in a religion forum? I personally do not care about your lack of belief but why be so hateful? Please be an adult when answering. Have an intelligent discussion for once. Having a lack of belief does not mean lack of intelligence.

My Goddess....in case I didn't mention before, I want an intelligent answer. I guess you could say I am one-sided just as I could say you are small minded. And I did say "some" not "all" the atheists' on here

I would like to re-stress that I said "SOME" of the atheists' on here are hateful. I did not say "all" as in the whole group.

pete-ten: I was not calling all atheists' unintelligent. I'm sorry if you feel you fit that category. And I do know their are some hateful "Christians"....I am not targeting a specific group. and I asked this because a lot of answers I have seen from atheists' are pretty insulting, like how you just tried to insult me.

Aurora, I never said you had no right here, and I never said it was a "Christian" section. I was asking why do "SOME" on here hang out in a RELIGIOUS section when all they do is insult others beliefs. Learn how to read hun and come back when you have something intelligent to say

Gimpalong, how did I fire the first shot? I was asking an honest question. I'm sorry if you feel you fit in the category of which my question was targeting.

Seems your question has sure brought out the uneducated people tonight. lol Your question does pose a good point though. Why do they come in here just to bash religion? But on the flip side- why do religious people go into the gay/ lesbian section just to bash them? We can try and live side by side but our beliefs will always make us different. I am a Christian and try to treat everyone equal, I do not always succeed though. God Bless.

I used to be Christian, went to church every Sunday, and then i just grew out of it, it just seemed too surreal for me, the bible sounded more like something written by the brothers Grimm and god more like something a mother made up to stop her kid from worrying and annoying her with stupid questions about death. God just seems like an easy out, a threat to keep everyone in line, peace of mind for ppl who were wronged in life and never got any justice, they get it in death. I just thought about it a lot for a long time. There is no easy answer or explanation for the way i believe, just as i am sure there is no easy answer for why u believe. I have studied evolution, science, religion and human behavior, to me atheism is the closest i can get to the truth. No matter what no-one knows 100% what happens when we die, that's why it is such a big issue for everyone, all i know is what ever is coming for me will come and if i am right and it is nothing i am prepared and if i am wrong and there is a god, well it will be a nice surprise, either way i will do my best to live a good productive life.

With all due respect your question is in the "All Categories" section. You, undoubtedly filed it correctly but Yahoo has moved it into the center ring of this three ring circus. I seldom go to any individual category as I enjoy the variety. So, like most Christians I know, you are clueless. How is that for an intelligent conversation. And in response to your last sentence, and my beliefs aside, believing in Santa (a religious holiday stolen from pagans), the Easter Bunny (another religious holiday) or the man in the moon makes me question any adult's intelligence.
Now, before you become incensed, remember who fired the first shot.

If someone has a bone of contention with anyone in the Christian (or other religions) community, they are welcome to air it here. Did you know that many Christians hang out at the LGBT and preach over there? Then the regulars at LGBT come over to R&S for a little revenge. I wish Y!A would change the headings for these two sections so that they are no where near each other. (I don't know if it would actually help the situation, but it couldn't get worse!)

Well, some of us are NOT here to whine and complain about anything, but are here to learn and teach and to answer questions asked of us. So many Christians whine that they don't even want us here, like we don't have a right to have our opinions about religion. I do not care if you like my lack of belief or not. I don't like religion and I'm here to say so and I have that right. This is NOT the Christian section and we don't have to please you. Believe me, I AM an intelligent adult and I'll answer any way I want.

I personally see far more attacks on Christians than the forcing of religion down anyone's throats. Most of the "questions" are attacks on those who believe.
Granted, I believe many of these are from immature
teenagers. Still, there are some rude, crass people on this forum.
The fundamentalists are almost as bad.
This afternoon was especially bad, but I think those people's questions were removed. I hope so, anyway.

It looks like some of the answerers up here took your question and ran with it. I didn't take offense to it and those who did must have something to hide. That one broad Aurora needs to simmer down. and to answer your question, some of them are rude because they lack knowledge and do not know any other way to express themselves. Some instead of answering your question, found fault in it as they do with anything else in their miserable lives. Don't take offense to some of these answerers. They say those with religion have wool over their eyes but yet they are the ones who do not see the bigger picture. Take joy that in the end, they will meet their maker and that reunion will not be so joyous.

Does spirituality require a god? If you ask the Buddhist, the answer would be no.
So that is one reason all are qualified to come here.
Another, if this is truly a place to get questions answered about religion, shouldn't all information be presented so that the asker can choose the best answer, not just one biased toward religion?

There may be one person out there who is on the fence with their belief and if I can impart some measure of factual reference to get them to understand where I'm coming from, I've accomplished something.
I also need to be here to ensure that religious people know that passing laws based on their beliefs will not be tolerated... stem cell research, gay marriage and abortion being the major issues.

It's not about Christianity being forced on me HERE... it's about real life.
And where ELSE am I supposed to post my feelings in regards to religion and spirituality if NOT right here in this section? This isn't the "love and cuddles" section where only good and sunshiny things are said about Christians. This is the section in which questions and answers pertaining to the subject may be posted regardless of whether they offend a few frail sensibilities.
And by the way, I don't HATE Christianity. Left on it's own, it's just about as mildly bizarre as Egyptian mythology. It's the people who take it so deathly seriously who seem to feel that they're entitled to cram their faith into every facet of life, forcing those who DON'T adhere to the faith into conforming, enforceable by law, to it's behavioral standards.
Sorry, but that violates my freedom of religion (having the doctrines and obligations of one particular faith imposed on my life IS a violation) and I don't like it.
