You kind of have to believe in religion to answer this but oh well.
If you were hit in the head or w/e and you went into a coma and every part of your body could not function. No brain activity. Especially your internal clock and the part of your mind that is aware of time passing and things around you.
Do you think that your next thought would be you in heaven?
I think that because you were not aware of the time passing that you would not recognize the time passed and your thoughts would go from, "Oh im about to get hit in the head" to, "I'm in heaven!"

Jesus said test them by their fruits? If that religon fosters hate and blood shed. would that correspond with what God said before the flood. "the end of all flesh has come before me because the earth is full of violence because of them"
Or when he destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah because of their loose morals and immoral sex worship? There again that would not be pleaseing to God.
So my question is if he destroyed them for those things before would he now somehow approve of such things?
Would a religon that says it is okay to lie, steal or to extort money on false pretenses be a true religion?
Say they say send me money and God will make you rich?
would that be true? I mean how do they know that? Did God somehow tell them that? So would a religion be the true religion if the people who were in that religion sinned against God?

Seriously - I just got an annoying Violation notice in my Yahoo mail for an answer I gave to a question yesterday. There was nothing incendiary, racist, or vulgar in my answer. I know that we live in America, and are therefore no longer entitled to our own opinions, but I don't like getting Violation notices. Please save your reports of abuse on Y!A for serious violations, and try not to be so uptight.

Churches, Mosques, Synagogues, Tabernacles, etc. often preach that MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL. Yet these very religions try so hard to take YOUR hard-earned money to live luxurious lifestyles, promote their own political agendas, and build more worship centers to perpetuate their lies and indoctrinations to ultimately become WEALTHIER at the expense of gullible people. I think that ALL "religion" is pure HOKUM!!!

Atheists cannot debate to the end of a conversation, because they simply do not see the visible point of life.

Some people believe only the evidence of their senses, what they can see or hear. They look at a table and see a solid object. However, when we look closely we see it is not solid but mostly empty space. Physicists say a truly solid substance, a magnetar or black hole, is so dense that a teaspoonful would weigh a billion tons on earth. If a teaspoonful of table substance weighs one ounce, the table is one part solid for every ten trillion parts empty space. At close range, every “solid” substance on earth more closely resembles outer space than a solid object.

ok, i am sick of people coming up to me and saying all this crap about me going to hell because of all this God stuff. I'm not saying I don't beleive in him, but i'm just asking if there's a way to prove he exists. I tell one person this, then they go off and tell everybody else. Pretty soon, all this junk comes up about me going to hell. It's maddening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can someone please explain to me all this 'God' stuff. ((it's not that i don't love him, i'm just confused about the whole 'God' topic.))

If you believe in the Bible, do you believe God created an entire universe just so we can worship Him? Do you believe He created mankind away from Him just to see what He already knew would happen, happen?

Do you believe that He would only give you a questionable book, and some feelings, and then punish you if you chose to not believe in said book and feelings?

Do you believe everything good is God's doing, and everything bad is man, or Satan's fault?

Do you believe God created us so we could not live a "perfect" life, and then condemns you if you do not apolgize for it?

Do you believe God parted seas, covered the Earth in water, blew up cities, but yet stands idly by when people are suffering?

I could go on for weeks, but you start to see how I might not be able to believe in Judeo-Christianity, and I'm just wondering how you do?

but also offers eternal suffering for those that don't believe, no matter how much of a good person they were in life. No Jesus, no Heaven. It also offers beleivers a "get out of Hell free" card, so no matter how much of a bad person they were in life, or the bad things they did, they still get to go to heaven on grounds that they believed in Jesus. Being good won't get you in, only belief and loving Jesus will do it.

Okay, sounds like a bad deal to me. What rewards do some of the other religions have for those that live good lives, whether they are believers or not?
