Jesus said test them by their fruits? If that religon fosters hate and blood shed. would that correspond with what God said before the flood. "the end of all flesh has come before me because the earth is full of violence because of them"
Or when he destroyed Sodom and Gamorrah because of their loose morals and immoral sex worship? There again that would not be pleaseing to God.
So my question is if he destroyed them for those things before would he now somehow approve of such things?
Would a religon that says it is okay to lie, steal or to extort money on false pretenses be a true religion?
Say they say send me money and God will make you rich?
would that be true? I mean how do they know that? Did God somehow tell them that? So would a religion be the true religion if the people who were in that religion sinned against God?

You are a wise young lady and you know those answerer's all ready.
But also consider one or two things, Jesus said, to go forth and preach to the entire inhabited earth. To Teach, and to Baptize.
He also said His Kingdom is no part of this world, and He is the King. So real Christians would follow their KING and remain neutral to world politics. Not join in the killing of other nations. Because their King Christ is NO part of this world, True Christians should be No part of this world.
Also They should be known for their fine works, Titus people zealous for fine works! Hebrew Incite to fine work and Love.

The people don't make the religion, the acts of the religion makes the religion. just because the members of a religion are bad doesn't mean the religion is bad. and after God destroyed the earth with water, he promised not to destroyed the earth by water again and sealed it with a rainbow. secondly, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed but the Bible said it that perilous times shall come and men shall become lovers of themselves which is happening today but the Bible never said anything about destroying them cause it is a sign of the end time and those that do these things you say won't make it to heaven.

You Can Read About This In the Book of James.

Very insightful question! As some have pointed out, all humans are imperfect and prone to sin and that would also be the case with those following the true religion. HowEver, True religion would not condone gross sin such as stealing and murder under the pretext of war. True religion would not simply give lip-service to Jesus Christ and his teachings but would pattern their lives after that of Christs' and be obedient to his command to preach and teach the good news of God's kingdom. True religion would have the mark of true Christianity that Jesus Christ mentioned at John 13:35, love amongst themselves.

Incorrect. Judging by whether the people are nice or not makes no difference. This is only an indicator as to whether the people themselves choose to take Jesus' teachings on board or not.

The way people act is regardless. All people are sinners. You must research the logic behind the religion and not WHAT they believe, but WHY they believe it. Essentially, can their beliefs be backed up by logic, reason, and facts.

Jesus did say that His Church would have both Saints and sinners in it. You must research the logic behind each and if there is a legitimate reason to believe any of them... meaning "Why this Christian denomination instead of that one?".

To cut a long story short, I went through the same questioning stage and the only book that could explain itself logically and back up it's claims was "Apologetics and Catholic Doctrine" by Archbishop Michael Sheehan. The logic is flawless.

But don't take my word for it - SEE FOR YOURSELF.

I hope this helps.

The only thing that makes a religion "true" is proof of its god's existence - which none of them have. Doesn't matter how the people act, that is a test of the followers, NOT of the religion. Ten billion nice peaceful people who believe the earth is flat does not change its spherical shape.

Religion is a really confusing thing to understand, and Christian answer leave you in a bigger mess than the one you started with.
Christian God is a very stubborn higher being, like when he created Satan even through he know that Satan will cause destruction, or when he place that tree in the middle of the Eden and tell Adam and Eve not to eat it when he already know that they are going to eat it. He never changes his mind, and that's that.
Sinned means go against the rule of a religion. So religion would promote the things that they told their member not to do.

Any God that promises to love and protect would not allow such evil to exist, let alone persist. As a father, who loves his children, I would let them be executed if they knowingly and willfully committed horrific evils on another. I would not ask their victims to wait until the evildoers die of natural causes to recieve their "justice". There is no god worthy of mindless devotion to a fantasy, here or in some afterlife.
