To a degree we can rise above it, but that mentality is part of our basic survival instincts it is next to impossible to completely get rid of it.
The language we speak, our beliefs, and our culture all define who we are and contrast us from others.

Maybe when/if things reach such an awful point that we're forced to? I mean, without any injury and trauma the self vs. other dichotomy and mentality doesn't arise--there's true connectedness--but with it (is there a place without it?) it seems to increase, and with more pain keeps increasing. But then there reaches a point where grace occurs, either naturally or by necessity.
Edit: Horomanakingi--yes, I pondered that point, whether tribalism was the best word here. Maybe empire-building is a better word.

Some tribes are small, like family, and may well be ingrained at a genetic level. So, no, we humans will likely always be tribal to some extent.

because of the Mono Theist tribal system of the Sun gods of Islam, Judaism and the 12 Apostles that mirrored the tribes of Israel
the idea we are special by blood or family is the very idea that divides us, especially if religion is involved based on belief

No, we will never lose the üs and then mentality" that's just human nature, it's all animals really. You just can't change what human is because then it wouldn't be human.

Those that have spoken thus far have no concept of Tribalism.
Ask a Maori from New Zealand or an Aboriginy from Australia as to why they consider their societies to be true tribalists?

Yeah, humans are wired biologically to be that way.
We all look at a black person and see a black person with some degree of anticipation about what they will be like. We all look at Asians and have a certain expectation of what they will be like.
That is just simple biology.

those of us who want to will, some refuse to believe that we are all one tribe! Maybe if we talk about positive things and do positive things that prove we love our fellow persons regardless of race, color ,creed or national origin, we can start right now, .....pass this on, live it now
.........love life and live a life of love and refuse all negativity in your life.Search out all positivity and be very, very blessed.
