My friend is a Mormon and while we were trying on clothes in the fitting room, I noticed she was wearing an undershirt under her tank top. It was a super hot day so I was like, "Wtf?"

She said that it part of her religion -- that she always had to have some kind of barrier between her skin and clothes.

I didn't understand and tried to ask her why, but she got uncomfortable and changed the subject.

Is that true? If so, why is this a requirement of the Mormon religion?

Hello
I have been studying some Islam.
I hope somebody can help me with this.
When is a good age to decide to convert to Islam?

Also, I want to ask about people who have never been educated and told about Islam (according to the Quran), but believe in God?
Thank you.

I am not talking about being perfect or sinless but I see many people on this site saying they believe in GOD yet they call people very slanderous names it's one thing to debate someone's theology but calling someone names that you have no clude about, never met
makes you look like an embarrsement if you are saying you are a person of GOD.

I see Christians debating principals and speaking of Jesus's gospel and Bible Scripture and some other people of faith are decent

But the ones who say they believe in GOD yet hurl slanders all over this site aren't you embarrassing your faith with slanderous remarks?

Eph.4.31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
Col.3.8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

This book will answer the questions so many of you have about the Bible, the origin of sin, creation, and the flood, and so many other topics that get thrown around in here. It is the best book you can read that expounds on the truth of the Bible. I have already read the first 3 chapters and I can hardly stop. I am only mentioning it because it so interesting and everything she talks about is so relevant to the questions on here. At least look at the chapter names and see if one looks interesting. It is easy to read and very enlightening. Here is the link.

I tolerate people who think that the only way to heaven is through Jesus, some are even friends. But they have a mindset, which is something apart from specific Christianity, that I don't find enjoyable to be around a lot.
The thought of those being the only sort of people in heaven puts me off wanting to go; I really would prefer to go to hell, and share a postcode with people like Ghandi, Einstein, and Lincoln.

Isn't the bible perfectly clear that it was Romans that actually beat him down, nailed him to the tree, and left him there to die? How can you blame Jews for this? Since when did conquored peoples rule the governments and judicial systems of their conquorers? Please explain this to me. I've got my popcorn ready cause I know this should be good.

Many say that without belief in God, that people wouold choose to be immoral. Well, if your only choosing to be moral because your scared of God, well I don't really consider that being moral at all. That's just avoiding punishment. I think that an atheist who chooses to be moral based on their own want to make the world a better place, that is far more admirable then one who chooses to be good only because of fear that they might be punished if they are not moral. I don't for a second think that religion has any coorelation with morality. I think ones morality come from ones own desire to be moral.

"A man can have sex with animals such as sheep, cows, camels and so on. However he should kill the animal after he has his orgasm. He should not sell the meat to the people in his own village, however selling the meat to the next door village should be fine."
-Ayatollah Khomeini, Tahrirolvasyleh, fourth volume, Darol Elm, Gom, Iran, 1990.

I have found this in many places on the web (see below) AND I AM HIGHLY SKEPTICAL OF THIS. However, perhaps some Shia readers have a copy of this volume and can confirm or deny it.

Thanks!

Why should I use Yahoo Answers to ask questions regarding religion to which I already know the answer as a means to have a short debate and always get the last answer?

A: Because I'm an idiot who would not survive a real debate with true scholars who might actually prove that my alternative faith is just an attempt to get attention.
B: Because I have no life whatsoever and spend hours upon hours on this site, secluded from the real world, although I still claim to have a stronger grip on reality than most others.
C: Both of the above.

If you honestly believe there is a Heaven, and that this hypothetical loved one of yours is going there, then why do you cry? Why would you cry over someone going to a place of eternal happiness and peace? Shouldn't you be celebrating? Isn't death just a new life to you guys?

It would be understandable to cry over someones death for an atheist or agnostic, the reality we will never see that person again is something we accept, but you Christians cry as if your loved one is dead-dead, as in not going to Heaven and you'll never see em again.

Christians, is death even really 'death' at all according to your beliefs? Or is it just vaccation?

Isn't the fact that your atheist mean you believe in no Supreme Being or "spiritual afterlife?" Maybe you should petition YA to give you your own forum....

Many liberal Jews and rabbis will routinely say something like, "he was a great teacher but not the messiah" when a Christian asks. My impression is that these people haven't given any serious thought to the question and haven't studied to Jesus's teachings, and are saying this only because they don't want to offend anyone rather than because of any deeply held conviction.

Some Jewish sources have suggested that Jesus and Christianity serve a positive purpose by bringing gentiles closer to G-d. For example, Rambam (1135-1204 C.E.) comments that because of the spread of Christianity, when the messiah comes:

the world will already be filled with the idea of moshiach, Torah, and commandments, even in far-flung islands and in closed-minded nations, where they engage in discussions on the Torah's commandments
But though Jesus and his religion may be part of G-d's plan for the world, the general consensus among the rabbis regarding Jesus is not favorable. On the same page where he made the remark above, Rambam commented that Daniel 11:14 (regarding people who try to establish the vision but stumble and fall) is a reference to Christianity, saying:

Is there a greater stumbling block than [Jesus]? All the prophets foretold that the messiah would redeem the Jews, help them, gather in the exiles and support their observance of the commandments. But he caused Jewry to be put to the sword, to be scattered and to be degraded; he tampered with the Torah and its laws; and he misled most of the world to serve something other than G-d.

If we believe that we have 1 God, why can't we merge all the religions together and believe in 1? Tell us your thoughts about this and list some pros and cons.
