Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
(Matthew 5:10)
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.
(Matthew 5:11,12)
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
(2 Tim 3:12)
It's part of the job decription when you commit your life to Christ

Ah, were it only so. I am a Christian who is disgusted by judgmental ultra-conservative holy rollers who think that they have the right to change the laws to vilify homosexuals, put prayer in schools, and take away a woman's right to make decisions about her reproductive system. These same big mouths disrespect the beliefs of followers of other religions and those who want no religion at all.
It's no wonder that a bunch of folks in the YA community are offended. And given the offensive, holier-than-thou tone of those that purport to speak on behalf of Christians, can we really be surprised that the community is taking out its ire on ALL Christians?
There is nothing wrong with speaking peace and sharing the Word. I don't think there are many who wouldn't simply exercise their right to walk away if that was all that was being preached. But as long as there are those Christians who preach intolerance, "my God is better than your god," and "you'll burn in hell if you don't agree with me," no, I don't think there will be peace today. Bummer, huh?

You learn to get used to it. I often just pop on, take a look at what's posted, and then log off before I get sick. The hate that rolls off this site literally makes me sick to my stomache.
Some people* (not all, some) use this site as an annonomys way to speak out in all hatred, in a way they can't off line. Off line, they're probably polite but they come here to say what they either can't or won't.
There are some who come on with the intent of asking serious questions, but get upset over the back and forth bickering. They get mad and post mean questions as a tit for tat.
And a very small margine of people come on here and don't attack anyone.
*by people, I am counting all religions and walks of life.

Ever kill a snake? The rebellious nature of an atheist against God is like the snake once you cut off it's head. It knows it's all over, but it keeps withering and withering. Trying, in its final minutes to make you think it still has power. It doesn't, nor do atheists who are also in their final minutes.

Ma-a-a-ate, I think you're missing something.
Theism brings out the child in many of we Atheists BECAUSE the concept of InvisibleSkyPixie is so childish; well it does to me anyway.
I can't get over the fact y'all believe in The InvisibleMan with NO evidence other than The Goat Herders' Guide to the Galaxy - sure there are many books that mention the InvisibleSkyGuy but You don't believe in them - you have but ONE book to back up your claims.
This book was written by half-naked, barely-literate sand-dwellers who saw MirageMan everywhere amongst the sands - why wouldn't they believe he was true?
AND then they (the rulers) needed to keep the people in line so they built on what was 'known' and made up lotsa stories to keep them enthralled during the boring nights cos they didn't have TV.
They invented Heaven for the good guys and Hell for the bad guys ... and embellished on both concepts till Hell was such a fearful place everyone would do ANYTHING not to go there.
I could go on but those who got the picture have stopped laughing and those who didn't, never will.
Making fun or Xians is easier than shooting dairy cows with a hi-powered rifle with scope.

Ah to live in a utopia where everyone can speak his or her mind without fear of any persecution *smile*...but seriously, if you're going to share the word, you have to accept that you will suffer the same consequences Jesus faced when he shared it. Asking why doesn't solve any problems nor does a plea for peace. Instead, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew...
Matthew 5:10-12.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. [NIV]
And later in Verse 44:
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you." [KJV]

Aw Honey, you sound so sweet, but.................DO NOT SHARE YOUR GOD'S WORDS WITH US!!!!!!!
We've heard, them, read them ourselves, and want nothing to do with your interpretation of them. We have our own.
The two hate emails I got from Christians definitely we not words of God, nor peaceful. Most vile and hilarious.
Funny, I haven't read any Christians getting hate email from a Pagan!!! Tell ya something???? So who are the real peaceful people?
Blessed Be
See Kaliko's answer! She's so right. We only become unpeaceful when those fanatics smear the reps of our real Christian friends. We love each other! Really.

You don't give us the option to 'just walk away'.
You are in our face all the damn time.
You knock on our door and insist on pushing your religion down our throats.
No other religion does that, just you Christians.
Jews don't hand out pamphlets called Watch tower.
Buddhists don't knock on doors or send out missionaries, just you Christians.
You deserve all the crap you get because you bring it on yourselves.
Leave the world alone and let us be who we want to be.
Stop pushing your damn beliefs at us and we will stop all the negative comments and feelings we have toward you.
Got it?

when Christians stop with the negative comments about everyone else, then maybe they will have some peace of their own.
look at any question asked about Paganism or Wicca. and you will find christinas telling them that they are going to hell. or that their religion is fake.
you get what you give.

Keep speaking the Word of the Lord, we must remain always faithful. To see the bad comments lets me know they are reading the answers, perhaps even thinking of it. Type what the Holy Spirit leads and He will touch the hearts of those who need to read thoser words.
