jitendra, There are so many. Physical, Social, Psychological.
It is better if you practice and face it.
It will be better if you get attached to a master and get his support and advice.
Others experience will not be much useful and it may lead you astray.
Basic needs are your burning desire to know the truth, and find a suitable path for you.
Difficulties are depends upon your aim.
It is purely personal.
There are not much common difficulties.
Common difficulties are Laziness, forceful involvement, physical changes while meditating, necessity of change of food habits, it goes on like this.
When you realise something true and implement it, People around you may go against it.
When you go deep you will find many things in religion are mundane. Now either you have keep quiet or fight.
In these times A guru will help you a lot.
Many problems I have faced are not mentioned here because a beginner will find it very difficult and may leave totally.
I dont say you are new, I know your good intention, yet this answer is for any beginner. Thanks

Desires, Passions, Urges, Pushings, Longings and of course, even Lust itself
False Pride, Arrogance, False Ego
Kama, Krodha, and Lobha (Lust, Anger and Greed)
Conditioning from previous births, our childhood, and other experiences in life
The Three-fold miseries: Miseries from other living entities, Miseries from celestial disturbance such as tornado or earthquake, and Miseries from our own body and mind
Solution: Sravanam Kirtanam Visnu (or Krsna or God) and then Smaranam: That is to say Hearing, Chanting, and Remembering the Glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
We can follow the principles of Bhakti-Yoga through Sadhana Bhakti, but if we cannot strictly follow on faith in Guru/Sastra/Sadhu, then we need to do scientific research to learn the validity of these principles and learn how to follow these principles.
If we are attached to Dharma and Yoga then we need to do scientific research to determine how all necessities of Dharma and Yoga are fulfilled in the practice of Bhakti-Yoga.
If you are referring to Yoga systems like Hatha Yoga, Astanga Yoga, Sat Cakra Yoga, or Raja Yoga? Then we must first listen to the instruction of Lord Sri Krsna in Bhagavad Gita.
"There is no possibility of one's becoming a yogi, O Arjuna, if one eats too much or eats too little, sleeps too much or does not sleep enough."
Bhagavad Gita As It Is 6.16
Next we must work on realizing how meat eating, illicit sex, intoxication, and gambling is deleterious to the health both materially and spiritually. Spiritually, because we need our full faculties to understand our true eternal self and God. Use the links for a deeper understanding of these concerns.
If we are unfamiliar with all these terms then we need to consider how to always do good or in other words, become pious. Then we must develop our knowledge of God so that we can reawaken our true love for Him.

The main difficulty is probably when the ranger gets mad at you for stealing pic-a-nic baskets. It is also difficult to achieve total enlightenment when Boo Boo is harshing your buzz.
