It is common to have doubts, at least until you have had a huge amount of truth reveled to you from the Holy Ghost. You only come to know the Lord from reading the scriptures and prayer. The more you read and pray the more it is like you are visiting with him, when you get to the point that you start wondering about some things you still do not understand and have exhausted your study of the subject then the Lord will, through the Holy Ghost help you understand more than you could with study alone. After a time you will understand the Lord enough to take on faith even things you do not understand. You will find though as I said any subject you truly want answered he will answer you in prayer if you try hard enough with study etc. You may turn away those who will have the answer if you are not careful and not close your mind to the truth. Study and Pray that is the answer. I am to the point I have no doubt in Jesus Christ and his eternal plan for us.

I went to a youth camp when I was close to a senior in high school. The speaker that spoke talked God having a crushed on us. The message basically discussed Jesus dying on the cross for our sins in order to show how much He loves us. I wll never forget that day. When it came to the last day, I remember the person who played the role of Jesus. Everytime he took a beating by the whip, he would look at me with hurt in his eye. This touched my heart so much, that I was already crying from my seat and when it came time for the altar call, I was there and I gave my life to Christ. Once I did that, I felt so free. Like a burden got lifted off my shoulders. It was the biggest step that I, a high schooler, could take.

Sure, I have my share of doubts about God and other things, but all I had to do was discuss it with someone that I knew was a Christian or I would pray for it and get an answer from Him. For you to go through this is a natural thing. It is not something that you can stop. When I go and witness to others, I always run into someone that runs into the same problem and I explain the same thing to them. Hope this helps!!!

I was in high school and attended a weekend youth retreat where the speaker came from a very different kind of church than the church I was raised in. That speaker explained that I could have a personal relationship with Jesus.

In three days that will be 41 1/2 years ago.

Of course I've had my ups and downs.

I've had a child kidnapped, who was returned unharmed 28 hours later, except for a broken arm.

And I had a wife who clearly turned her back on me and became my enemy, and I had churches and pastors stab me in the back but God has always been faithful.

Joe, I've been a Born Again Christian most of my life and often I used to doubt my salvation. But it was only recently that I discovered what those doubts were all about.

You see, as a Christian we are taught to pray the Sinner's prayer to ask Jesus to come into our heart. But what God showed me is that when I doubt, it's not a case of needing to ask him in once again, as I kept doing; it's about the fact that my relationship with him was not where it needed to be. You see, when we doubt our salvation, chances are that we have drifted away from God.

So, if you are facing that issue, I encourage you to seek God, and ask him to reveal if there are any areas of your life that are coming between you and God. Then confess those areas to him. As you do, and as you recommit your heart to God, you will have those doubts erased.

I came to know God and Jesus Christ through reading the King James Bible....and no,,,I have never had a single doubt....about whether or not God exists and Jesus is my Savior..I had a problem for a little while with healing when I prayed for it and it didn't happen...but I finally realized like Paul did, that his Grace is sufficient for me...

I read the Bible, totally believe what it says. Yet there are times when I feel these same battles. Our mind is a battle field. When I'm waring against these thoughts I have mature Christians I can go to and talk to that encourage me. This always helps.

I was raised in a very "moral" family with a church background. (basically it was Beaver Cleaver's family, only 5 kids instead of 2).

I was involved in church activities and even taught Sunday school for several years, but it wasn't until I was in my early 20's when someone actually challenged me with the question "have you accepted Christ as your Savior". I began to dance around the issue. I always considered myself a good person.

It was during that time that I realized that my greatest sin had been trying to do Christ's work for Him. My arrogance in trying to "work my way to Heaven" was laid bare in the light of Christ's atoning sacrifice.

I accepted Christ and asked for his forgiveness for all my sins, especially the sin of believing in myself more than Him. I am now 44...I have never regretted the decision.

27 years ago this summer. Studying the Bible to disprove Christianity. Oops.

Not so much doubts as constant questions and reading to discover the answers.
