Yes, being omnipresent can be painful. I mean having to listen to Jerry Falwell scream in hell or Pat 'I love the sound of my voice' Robertson make up lies for hours on end is painful. And don't get me started on Fred 'this anti-gay gig is making me rich' Phelps.

Considering the nature of God, as an immortal and as the font of Knowledge, I would say so. However, I have not seen any physical indications that He has any way to have such experiences, since the one time I met Him, (which I don't even know if it's just my own imagination or not except that I couldn't get it out of my head for days and days and months and...well, let's say it was profound.), He was a pillar of light that made no sound. He was absolute and total Peace. He was Stillness. He was brilliant.

I do not know if I would on my own imagine God like this. I think that on my own, I would imagine Him as a Dore print.

I don't know about physical pain, but I believe He can, in a manner of speaking, experience emotional "pain."

In creating beings with free will, I think God left Himself wide open for the possibility that those creatures would deny Him the relationship that He desires. I think that this "pain" was a risk He was willing to take when He created humans.

My belief is that we are all a piece of God / Goddess / All That Is. Jesus taught us that we are everything that He already is. If Jesus felt pain, and if we are a piece of Source, and WE feel pain, then based upon this premise Yes, God can and does experience the sensation of pain.

Jesus experienced pain, and Jesus was God. So as Jesus, God experienced pain.

God is a spirit being, however, and doesn't have a physical body and so doesn't normally experience pain other than that period when he was walking the earth as Jesus.

I'll have to guess GOD feels sad when no one remembers his birthday, or forgets to call if working late & not coming to dinner, or is forgotten when the gang goes to the newest movie or play.
Pain is something GOD must feel also. It hurts to be forgotten.

He invented it,so He must know how it feels. Jesus Christ took the pain of beating, whipping and crucifixion for the sin of mankind, so He certainly knows about it.

Nah, probably not. Would you inflict a worldwide flood on men, women, and children if you knew what it felt like to drown?

Or sanction rape for women (Lot's daughters) if you knew of the emotional pain of assault? Or stone children to death for being disobedient, homosexuals for feeling attraction (Leviticus), or rip up children with a she-bear because they laughed at Paul's haircut? There is no way to sugar coat some of these stories. Fortunately they are fiction, but the violence disturbs me every time.

As I understand it, their god can do anything, so I suppose if it wanted pain, it would have it.
