and is that entirely fair?

Recently I read an discussion on Y!A's about how Atheism can be "spiritual" or how Atheism can be "religious." I agree with such assessments as spiritual "can be" seen as "mystical" and there is something very "mystical" to life, via Quantum Physics and a religion is a philosophy lived and practiced, i.e. an Atheist could be a Buddhist, since Buddhism states that man create gods, constructs that confine them and all there is really is us. But to be fair the objective of Buddhism is the same as every other belief that exist as the core knows it of a particular movement; Gnosticism for Christianity, Sufism for Islam, Jewish Mysticism for Judaism, etc, which objective is to transcend into a inner state of knowing into a higher reality of ones being and harmony, both within and without.

So what occurs to an "spiritual" Atheist when they become acquainted with such a inner reality that transcends material existence to a reality where symmetry can only be found?

Peace

Free from biases, judgments, hatred, criticisms, prejudices and all those things that cloud our sight? Are you free from beliefs or thought patterns that limit you and imprison you? Are most of your limitations self-imposed?

My best friend of 37 years just passed, she was 53. She called herself an atheist because she couldn't understand why the Christian God would let her go through the horror of being abused by her step-father.

In my mind's eye she is in the Summerland waiting for me and her husband. He is having a wake in Georgia and then he will come up here (Kentucky) to bring her ashes so we can bury them here on the property in the Fall.

I want to plan a local memorial/wake and I would like to know what others think would be appropriate?

If you have something nasty to say or your want this advantage to spread your Christian anger or righteousness just remember, I am a Witch and you are supposed to afraid of us! And believe me the pain I am feeling can be shared.

Thanks to all for your good thoughts in advance.

Jeez, I came across this read and honestly it's pretty heavy. it does NOT make room for evolution of mankind from apes, i'll never believe that, rather an evolution of the souls of mankind. It's a long read so i'll post the link and parts of the passages. Later i'll get really baked and read it all again and let it glean over the threads of the finite mind and see what chord it strikes.
The Master paused and closed his eyes. After about 30 seconds his eyes fluttered open and said, "The three three's. The Mystery of the three three's will explain it." He shifted deeper into the grass growing under the tree. "Three primary religions teach reincarnation, they are Hinduism, Taoism and Buddhism. Three primary religions teach of a resurrection, they are Judaism, Christianity and Sufism. And three more religions are a blend of one of the two mentioned. You can call them blended religions. Zen is a blend of Buddhism and Taoism, The Sihks are a blend of Hinduism and Sufism.

If mid-east countries are run by extremists who misinterpret Islam, as is often pointed out, does that mean the majority of Muslims in these countries are oppressed and secretly wish to overthrow their govt?

What if everything you know to be true at the moment is a lie?
That would suck would it not?
But what if what awaits you is better than what you had once believed?

There are some people who have written in this Forum, that The Quran is not from GOD, and that Mohamed stole from the Bible and Torah. I strongly disagree. No human can and ever will write a literary masterpiece like the Quran. It is written in such a beautiful poetic form that the master poets of the time the Quran was revealed were stunned. Many scientific discoveries confirm what the Quran revealed 1400 years ago.
something also caught my eye when i was reading the Quran .The Atomic number of Iron is 26 and Atomic weight 56. Is it a coincidence that iron is mentioned in verse 25 chapter 57? or the Story of the Ant in the Quran 27:16-19
where the Ants are described as having a leader and have a means of communication with a strict social order. Well the bible says the opposite -Proverb 6:6-8 . so how can the Quran be a copy when it has proved itself with science and disagrees with one of the books it has allegedly been copied from?

Does it contain memories? Does it retain them indefinitely? Does it hold the personality? Can it perish? Does it extend beyond the body? How does it stay coherent? Does it cover the entire body? How does it stay anchored to the body? Where does it go when we dream, or when we are in a coma, or when we are sedated? Where does it come from, and where does it go to? Is there an infinite supply of new souls?

I say bollocks to the concept, it raises too many questions. Ockham's razor says it ain't there. Well, that and the complete lack of proof and evidence.

I swear, on all these R&S Q&A's from Christians, NOT ONCE have I read a question from a Christian in which your deity is referred to as She. Never, not once. Why?????

this quesiton is ONLY for those Christians who are enlightened enough to have said that the pronoun "She" may be used, not for those who STILL exclude the feminine. I already know why YOU guys only say "He"

For e.g a lot of users misused Islam to make themselves feel important. Constantly they blame Islam for inhumane acts such as wife beating, sucide bombing (i wonder why they don't discuss carpet bombing) and child molestation. They don't look into what's written in their own holy books. their research is only 2 clicks in the holy google and for that, they want a nobel prize. Hey! 1.5 billion people are muslims, every minute growing. have you thought about it today. who is behind this beauty. primitive answers to the main question above are not welcomed.
