I think they are encouraged to think people won't like them by some of the evangelizing movements.

When I went on an alpha course (to turn you into a christian), it was often repeated that if you become a Christian you will lose friends, it didn't make sense to me, and when I questioned it was "you'll find out" said in an knowing way.

A lot of people recently have become the more full on Christian types from this sort of course(alpha course) and so I guess they've had the same indoctrination-"people won't like you", and defend themselves against imaginary dislike.

It doe's become self fulfilling, when they react as, you notice, with insults and rudeness.

It is standard cult indoctrination, that is my informed guess.

I think Christians get a bad rap because SOME of them are deluded into thinking they have ALL the answers. I am a Christan with God outside of the box. I think we Christians need to seriously answer that old, tired question, "What would Jesus do?"
Certainly Jesus was not a racist or a hater of any thing save, perhaps, the concept of hate itself.

The Christians who do that have no life.

I'm a Christian, but I don't ever say racist comments and not quite everyone hates me. The only ones that hate me are the ones who hate people just because of their beliefs.

(If you are talking outside of Yahoo, about 75% of the people I know hate me, but that's not in Yahoo.)

Because if you love God, you don't ever need approval of anyone here on the face of the earth... If you love Jesus more than God then your allowing something that you think is greater than the lord to enter your presence.... so you always in doubt... and so the lord says I leave you with your spirit to deal with.
"Blind Faith" has no strings to hang onto so you always look to please others and get pleasure from others... instead of asking for peace.. you say.. why do you hate me.. lol

its pretty darn staggering - in areas very concentrated with Christians, you will find that there is a very high amount of racism, and homophobia to go with it. hmm. interesting. christians used the bible to promote slavery, and defend the owning of black slaves. didnt you read that passage in the gospel of... i dont remember, but you know, when Jesus bought and whipped those slaves? right?

in the name of jesus comes religious intolerance - that directly violates the commandments of Christ to love one another, one's friends and one's enemies, overturning the law of eye for eye, tooth for tooth. the Inquisition involved death and torture all in the name of the christian god.

Neo Nazi groups, KKK, aryan brotherhood, etc. are all the time claiming to be christians. proponents of the death penalty are christians. come on now - see a pattern?

This might shed a little light on that.
Matthew 10:22
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Mark 13:13
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
