A lot of times when I surf the net (Youtube), I find a lot of videos featuring people (oftentimes children) reciting the Qu'ran. Also, I recently learned that according to Islamic Tradition, when the Muslim Prophet Muhammad first received Islam from the Angel Gabriel, the first thing the angel told him was: Recite! So, from that, I am assuming that reciting the Qu'ran is a very important thing to do in Islam. Why is it so important to you to recite the Qu'ran? Is it that important?

When you're able to see EVIL in those around you and name it

When you're able to see EVIL in those around you and name it what it is and pronounce it for what it is for those who are EVIL and everyone else

Does it mean, does that ability mean, does the act of pronouncing something EVIL

Mean YOU are really really really really GOOD?

Also state your religion. I'm interested to see if there's a correlation. If you are religious, do you think that it is wrong or a "sin" to date someone you have intention of getting married to?

I ask questions here on Y answers relating religion
Well I am an atheist but I know more on Christian history more then any of the Christians here on answers.
Well Muslims know about the history of their religion
Jews know and any other religion knows.
But this Christians think that’s there is the bible and that’s all, nothing of the development of their religion.
How their religion came to be what it is today.
Like the important decisions made in the days of Roman Emperors by the Councils of Nicaea, and things like that
read a history book degenerates!

Although atheists claim that babies are born without a knowledge of God, the fact that no matter where they are, humans have always believed in a supernatural force behind their existence, must somehow mean that it's something hardwired in our genetic or evolutionary makeup, no?
Like some sort of instinct, something you inherently know but need to develop and expand as you grow...

Why did Leonard Cohen write and record this song?

Crown of Light, O Darkened One,
I never thought we'd meet.
You kiss my lips, and then it's done:
I'm back on Boogie Street.

A sip of wine, a cigarette,
And then it's time to go.
I tidied up the kitchenette;
I tuned the old banjo.
I'm wanted at the traffic-jam.
They're saving me a seat.
I'm what I am, and what I am,
Is back on Boogie Street.

And O my love, I still recall
The pleasures that we knew;
The rivers and the waterfall,
Wherein I bathed with you.
Bewildered by your beauty there,
I'd kneel to dry your feet.
By such instructions you prepare
A man for Boogie Street.

So come, my friends, be not afraid.
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made;
In love we disappear.
Though all the maps of blood and flesh
Are posted on the door,
There's no one who has told us yet
What Boogie Street is for.

I admire the Jehovah's Witnesses very much. I have found them to be kind, gentle, environmentally progressive, and anti-war. I just got one problem. "The Jehovah's Witnesses" is a 7 syllable phrase. It is too long. I want to start a new phrase, "The JW's". (the jay-double-yous)This phrase is only 4 syllables long and much easier to say.

Who will join me and utilize this new phrase "The JW's"?
Also is there anyone who is offended by this phrase?

Volition

Is a choice whereby there is choice, but laws limit it. Such as, water poured at the top of a hill. It is free to run down the hill in whatever direction, however, it WILL run downhill due to the effect of gravity. It cannot run uphill.

Free Will

Free will states that choice is made, regardless of law. You must realize that this is a misnomer, and therefore does not exist, except in your own mind. Don’t believe me? Then I say, go ahead and take off and fly, like Superman……I’m waiting.
