This is an excerpt of a Y/A user opinion:

I do not agree that atheists are far more clever than believers - I think that atheists merely THINK they are. Actually, they are foolish to put faith in what they perceive to be their intelligence.

How do you reply to it? What are you thoughts?

I recently went to a Catholic church and although I am a recovering cathaholic from childhood, out of respect for those who live their lives somewhat civilly, I did receive communion. The Catholics believe that the host and wine are the actual Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit and I believe that all matter represents other matter back to the Creator and so that there is just as much Jesus in that Host as there is Me or You and or all other matter. And so with that belief system that I find to be of a Higher Power than that of any other religion, I give myself permission to take communion whereever I go.

1-2 Honor and enjoy your Creator while you're still young,
Before the years take their toll and your vigor wanes,
Before your vision dims and the world blurs
And the winter years keep you close to the fire.
3-5 In old age, your body no longer serves you so well. Muscles slacken, grip weakens, joints stiffen.
The shades are pulled down on the world.
You can't come and go at will. Things grind to a halt. The hum of the household fades away.
You are wakened now by bird-song. Hikes to the mountains are a thing of the past. Even a stroll down the road has its terrors. Your hair turns apple-blossom white, Adorning a fragile and impotent matchstick body. Yes, you're well on your way to eternal rest, While your friends make plans for your funeral. 6-7 Life, lovely while it lasts, is soon over. Life as we know it, precious and beautiful, ends. The body is put back in the same ground it came from. The spirit returns to God, who first breathed it. Ep 12 M

Most of the modern world is familiar with Mother Teresa of Calcutta. It is common knowledge that she devoted her life to the care of the discarded lives of Indian society to the degree that she physically picked up dying human beings and cared for them the best she could in their final moments on Earth. What is not so common knowledge is that she kept a diary, and part of what she wrote was about her prayer life. She apparently spent 35 years praying to God without any indication God even received her prayers. It is reported she wrote that her prayers, while sent to God in heaven, came falling down on her like a multitude of sharp pointy daggers. Shortly before her death, while in the United States, she was witnessed as being "bubbly and full of joy," a stark contrast to the suffering she lived most of her life. Take from this what you will; she is reported to have shared that God was permitting her to experience Heaven while still alive.
I will now share with you some of her wisdom:

Is there a definate law within the religeon that forbids work on sundays? In the case of factories changing shifts to include weekends, would they be able to argue that a Mormon CAN work on Sundays? Could you provide the website or pages where the information is held.

I find this one quite interesting.

In the debate between creationists and science, the creationists love to refer to how the bible's truth has never changed...........unlike science.

Aside from the fact that the main strength of science is its preparedness to revise our understanding of what we believe to be true, it avoids that period in the first two hundred years of the common era when christianity was a bunch of sects, mostly Gnostic, pushing very different concepts and ideas.

The christians were brought together by political neccesity rather than a blinding realisation of truth.

How can christians be so sure that the bits that were chosen for the New Testament were the right bits?

I don't mean to Him. I mean with Him? Have you received personal revelation?

If not how do you know He exists? If not how do you know He doesn't?

Most importantly, If not why on earth should anyone listen to you about God when you admit you have absolutely no personal knowledge of Him?

hi, I'm reading a Donne biography which obviously covers the reformation. I'm not a Christian. and especially don't understand minor differences in branches of the same faith, both believing in the holy trinity & the resurrection and metaphysical concepts like heaven & the immortal soul.

Could anyone summarise the main differences between Roman Catholicism, and Protestantism? I'd really appreciate some guidance. Many thanks. x Sue

"Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 'The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do EVERYTHING they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.' (Matthew 23:1-3)"

"Brethren, do something; do something, do something! While societies and unions make constitutions, let us win souls. I pray you, be men of action all of you. Get to work and quit yourselves like men. Old Suvarov's idea of war is mine: `Forward and strike! No theory! Attack! Form a column! Charge bayonets! Plunge into the center of the enemy! Our one aim is to win souls; and this we are not to talk about, but do in the power of God!'" Charles Spurgeon

I mean that if we get what we send out, is it not possible for us to recieve that back to the point that we will ponder on the wrongs and try to redo them?

If we fail to try to make amends so to speak, what do you think the results will be.

Yes, I have my thoughts and beliefs on this, but am wondering what you all think, Thanks in advance.
