Absolutley. I spent 8 months sailing from Washington State to the Gulf of Oman and back. It was the most serene experience I have ever had.
The North Pacific is rough, and the Sea of Japan is a little rough, but once you get past the Phillipines, it smoothes out. The Indian ocean is like glass - completley calm. And the flying fish are amazing. I love the sea. I wish I could do it again.

I ignored it. The navy wouldn't let me be a clearance diver and afte meeting them everything else seemed dull in comparison. I grew up in WA and the ocean is one thing I miss like crazy living in the UK, I'm only 20 miles from the coast but it's really not the same. I used to love parking the car by the sea front and watching storms on the sea.

Went to sea at 16, best working time of my life. Absolutely unmatchable feeling of freedom and peace, have never found that since stepping back on land to work.
And I've always regretted not spending more time at sea.

I've heard the siren's call but I know better than to answer. I've heard the seagull's call and don't look up with my mouth open to call back. I hear the surf as it crashes and thunders against our rocky coast and marvel at the wonders of all creation and know that God is calling so of course I answer

once long ago i heard the call, me and my brother moses, bought a boat from an old fisher man, who warned us of terrible danger, but we didn't listen, we set sail off the coast Finland, and sailed from weeks on end, then one foggy night out of the ocean's cold mysterious depths came a creature so foul just looking at it could paralyze a man, he swallowed moses whole i managed to escape with only a broken pelvis, if you ever hear the call of the sea listen to the old man's warning it may just save your life.

I think I did earlier today. I did not answer it though. I looked at the ocean and I was thinking about cruising that way and ending up in another universe.

Yeh i've heard the call of the sea. I remember it saying help, help, gurgle... gurgle, help, help. Then I realised it was just someone drowning. Doh!

You mean whale farts?
On a fishing excursion, there were a bunch of people who forgot their dramamine, and they did a lot of sea calling...not a very pleasant sound...

Someone I cared about walked into the see and drowned.
They had had a difficult life.
Be careful of the sirens!
