This woman is saying she's a psychic, but I've seen her mess up on TV plenty of times. She looks like every other swindler out there--long red nails, huge hair, odd clothes, and 10lbs of makeup to cover the wrinkles. When she messes up, she tries to cover it and act like it didn't happen. And she says that there's no evil spirits out there, but says there are only good spirits. The worls thrives on balance, so that couldn't possibly be true.

Any real psychic treats it as a gift--they don't ask money for helping people. If someone really cares, they wouldn't ask money to help people out. That would be like a charity asking the poor for money! And they're regular people living regular lives--not getting millions off of Montel and books that all repeat the same things.

My mother-in-law swears by her every word. What do you guys think? Real? Or an old lady just trying to make some cash?

Example, I am a "How Long" person (patience is Not one of my virtues) and it is the first question that pops into my head upon an everyday normal statement. My brother is a "Why" person, who has an analytical mind and therefore is never happy for he never gets his questions answered to his satisfaction. What are you?
Where, Why, When, What, How, How Much, How Many....? Which Question word dominates above all the rest for you?

There are a lot of arguments on here about the bible's validity but what I'd like to know is where people got this idea that the bible is holy and authoritative. Ok, it's an old book, but being old doesn't make it true. Ok, there were a lot of contributors, but still that doesn't make it true. A lot of people believe it's great and that's traditional, but still doesn't make it true. Parents pass it on to children as they do a lot of other knowledge; I think you know where I'm going with this. If my parent told me not to touch fire because it would be bad, I could just go touch it anyway and feel how bad it was. We can't time travel to see the bible's stories with our own senses. So what's with this absolute and certain belief some people seem to have? Is it just that there are some nice ideas in there that help people cope and help society function? If so why are some people so closed to debate and so certain they are right?

serious question here, not trying to start a fight. You believe in annihilition, doesn't that scare you? One day you will not exist at all. I just want honest answers because I personally couldn't deal with that, and no, that is not why I'm Christian. I don't hide behind my faith to protect my fears. Please, real answers here

Asking a question that requires thought is generally a waste of time. Asking one that requires research is asking for a headache. A few members are very good, and post fantastic answers, but most are parrots. Encouraging study, research and thought through occasionally skewed, and sometimes touchy questions gets the same garbage answers over and over. Is it really worth the effort?

because Lord Vyas muni said to Maan Satyawati that now only tapovan is left for you , and she left the path of karam yog . she did not inclined to go to forests but she did not had choice she had gone to forests . it means sometimes it happens that you are out of karam yog or you do not have right to do karmas . so how the Lord Sri Krishna's statement is true that you have right on karmas and not on results of karmas

Crimes are defined by law. Wrongs are defined by collective opinion. Sins are defined by religion as being unsavory to one deity or another. We are against crime, against wrongs, but do not believe there are any sins. Anyone else think this way?

Matthew24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"

"The moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven." Apparently, Jesus believed that the moon produces its own light, and that the stars are lights held in place by a firmament only a few miles above our heads.

my parents and everybody always feel that reading the quran and praying are the only way to heaven and i feel it is true but then again i wonder if the almighty has given a fair chance to all people. i mean does this mean that a poor person from bangladesh who can not feed themselves has the same chance as a rich king from saudi arabia to go to heaven. he should have a better chance because his life here on earth is hell and he is sad all his life but the arab king is always happy and has everything he needs so why is it that he should get to hevean and be happy there too. should allah give the poor man something for his life's hardship.say if the poor man does not pray and goes to hell is that fair because he had a sad life on earth and will have one in the hereafter. but the king will have a good life on earth even if he is bad and goes to hell. that does not equal up.

Pro 9:8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Pro 15:12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

What is your opinion of this?

"Logical grounds to prove that the Prophet did not learn the Quran from Jews or Christians.

The day-to-day life of the Prophet was an open book for all to see. In fact a revelation came asking people to give the Prophet (pbuh) privacy in his own home. If the Prophet had been meeting people who told him what to say as a revelation from God, this would not have been hidden for very long.

The extremely prominent Quraish nobles who followed the Prophet and accepted Islam were wise and intelligent men who would have easily noticed anything suspicious about the way in which the Prophet brought the revelations to them - more so since the Prophetic mission lasted 23 years.

The enemies of the Prophet kept a close watch on him in order to find proof for their claim that he was a liar - they could not point out even a single instance when the Prophet may have had a secret rendezvous with particular Jews and Christians.

Lately, I've felt a void in my life, and I started searching for faith and spirituality. I came to realise I dont believe in Jesus' divinity. (It's ok if you do, I will never say you're wrong.) My question is:

Shouldnt the only concern be, when it comes to other peoples' religions, are they good people or not? I've realized that the closest thing I am is druidistic, but i dont believe in a lot of it. But shouldnt the only deciding factor ont he outcome of my soul be if I lived a fulfilling life and served other?

The old covenant(Laws of Leviticus) were canceled out by Jesus...look at Hebrews 8(since there is only 13 verses) more specifically 7-13. It is too long to post on here, but I will list 13, which explains the "New Covenant".

Hebrews 8:13 By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

That is why I, and many others, say the old covenant(aka laws of leviticus) was thrown out, because they were not repeated by Jesus in His new covenant....

Matthew4:8 "Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;"

The devil kidnaps Jesus and takes him up to the top of the temple, and then to the top of "an exceedingly high mountain," high enough to see "all the kingdoms of the world." I guess the earth was flat in those days. roflol

Isaiah30:26 "Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound."

"The light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold." Well, this is one prophecy that will never come true. Since the moon has no light of its own, but only reflects that of the sun, it could never shine like the sun. And the sun will not, at least not while there are humans to see it, shine 7 times as bright as it does now.

Isaiah11:12 “And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.“

God will gather up the people of Judea "from the four corners of the earth." In the Bible's view, the earth is flat with four corners.

If you believe in the bible then you must believe the world is flat, you can't pick and choose what you like!

Is Christianity really threatened by these books?

Grimm's fairy tales had witches and magic.

Shakespere had witches and ghosts.

Poe had a talking bird.

Christians, is your religion really so fragile?
