I am a strong believer in Jesus. I am a Christian. I love God with all my heart. I noticed my cousins were wiccan because I saw the chain on their neck with the symbol. I asked one of my cousin if she was satanist because I thought thats what the symbol was and she said no she was wiccan. I don't know what to do think. I wonder if she hates me because I'm Christian. I know I should ask her all this but I want to know from some other people's point of view. To me wiccan seems like worshipping satan, casting spells, and doing voodoo on people. It makes me feel odd around them sometimes. I don't know what to think. Help?

Last night I saw for the first time the movie Apocalipto and I couldn't help but think of all those christians--and all believers for that matter--who believe in their god. Is there any difference between the Mayans and their gods and the believers today. Your thoughts?

I don't really think Anger is a bad thing, it can destroy you like a fire destroys a forest, or it can motivate you to do great things or things you want to do. what do you think of being Angry.

In the new testament that it is a sin to sodomise and be homosexuals?

Now, remember I said new testament. I want books chapters and verses. I want literal words saying "it is a sin to sodomize" or "it is agaisnt God to lie with another man"...etc.

Not something that can be interpreted as homosexuality or sodomy...

I am wondering, because most Christians quote Leviticus which doesn't apply to us. Why? Because of the new covenant being formed by Jesus and the old one(Old Testament or Laws of Leviticus) was thrown out. I just want to be able to give scriptural support to our beliefs when someone else askes this.

According to Catholic belief, is it necessary to confess our sins to a priest, or are we able to ask God directly for forgiveness?

God promises to cast out seven nations including the Amorites, Canaanites, and the Jebusites. But he was unable to fulfill his promise. These nations were "greater and mightier" than the Israelites, who according to Ex.12:37 and Num.1:45-46 already had numbered several million. So the region, according to the bible, must have had a population of more than twenty million! 7:1

I personally think that the next president in office will not only pull us out of iraq but will also cut ties to iseral. i say this because most of the Muslim nations hate americans because we support Isreal. and the bible does say that all nations will rise up against Isreal (i can't remember where though)

just curious to know what others think!

Why wasn't the Gospel of James picked to be in the bible? It is considered the oldest. Also James the Just was Jesus's brother. So why wasn't his Gospel included?

Was it because it made Jesus out to be more human, or because it focused more on Mary? If it is because it focused more on Mary why wasn't included, James was his brother and probably knew how Jesus was born more than the other church leaders.

Genesis 11

11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language
11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

But this could not be true, since by this time (around 2400 BCE) there were already many languages, each unintelligible to the others. Additionally, people existed all over the world way before that time!

Its seems we live this life full of questions and we spend our lives chasing the answers. Some of them big and small. We chase our dreams, and die without fullfillment. My question is, why? Why are we here? What are we doing on earth? The world seems like it would be better if we didnt even come here.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. (Luke 4:18)

And Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." (Matthew 19:23,24)

He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (John 12:25)

Jesus said to him, "If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me. When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions. (Matthew 19:16-22)

Since God knew more about microbiology and other advanced fields of science 3500 years ago before the microscope was invented, wouldn't He have had to know more about evolution then, then Charles Darwin did in the 1830's?
