You listen to music because you desire to be like the music, you cannot help but repeat what you hear because you desire the world. King Saul of the Bible had this same problem, his demon would stop bothering him if he listened to music; 1 Samuel 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 1 Samuel 16:16 Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.
But Saul's music was not evil in nature to remove the demon, but I imagine yours is, so I would understand the spirit behind the music and stop listening to it and stop hanging around friends that like that music.

Learn to enjoy the purity of silence. Listen to the world around you. Go out and listen to the birds, the wind the waves and the crickets.
Creation has a music all it's own. Listening to it is inspiring.
Most of the time, I like to get outside when I can and just be as quiet as I can in the open spaces.
You will find that the more you listen, the more you hear God.

First, ask God to help you stop listening to the music - He can and will help you - you can't do it on your own! Then, talk with Christain friends and find a trusted person to help you be accountable. They might ask you if you've listened to it lately - this can be quite helpful. Also, find alternative music to listen to. There are so many different christian bands - I know you can find something you like!! I'll be praying for you!

i would try not listening to that music- i know its hard but jesus wants pure and lovely things in our heads not immoral images and cursing. think of it this way- have you ever got a song stuck in your head? if so, was the song a little over PG, if you know what i mean? see if the song is stuck in your head then how would you not think of it, and how would you refrain from talking like it? music is a powerful thing, dont underestimate it.

Stop trying to get better, you can't. In this flesh we will sin,but when we belive in Christ,He gives us a new man,or His Spirt dwells within us. That new man will always be in conflict with the old man until death. I would suggest a good read to you that will help you understand this better. It is The two natures in the child of God,by E.W.Bullinger. I belive you can read it online.

what i would do is stop listening to secular music...if u have to question the music you are listening to..then u know its wrong already...if you cant repeat the words in church then u know its wrong already...the desire to listen to ungodly music comes from the flesh and the flesh serves self and self serves sin...so my solution is to listen to godly music...theres all sorts from rock to alternative, even hip hop godly music...sending a godly message and those words repeated may not make you the most popular guy around your friends but u can repeat it anywhere and it will bring u closer to god...

Hey if Jesus were around today do you really think he would be listening to gospel music? Certainly not, he was cool before they turned him into a god. He was a rebel and he liked ridiculing those ignorant scripture thumpers, so I think he'd prefer something like Gangsta, or anything that is very loud and annoys the neighbors.

You mean you are follower of Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
If so try to follow Him correctly and try to find His true teachings.
If you find original revelation on Him that is the best to get His original teachings. Because if you read corrupted materials that will lead us to no where but not the way Jesus taught us to follow.

If you're trying to get better than Christianity, I would suggest researching the religion(s) of your pre-Christian ancestors for a start.
