Could it be that he was showing the ultimate love, by letting those who hated Him kill Him, without resistance and without condemniing them, He suffered and died for the cruel and the vile? He even offered up a prayer to the Father:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

Could it be that His motive was to save them from their own self-condemnation by drawing their hearts to Him with this selfless act? Could it be that He desired to save them from being deceived and led astray by the false Gods of this world to save them with this great light of selfless Love? Could it be that He desired to distinguish the True Righteous and selfless God from the deceiver and destroyer of men? To salvage their sould rom destruction?

Thanks for including a verse reference.
This is referring to his crucifixion. He was prophesying his manner of death, and tying it to a prophesy of Jeremiah.
This has been continuing to be fulfilled for 1900 years. People from every continent, tribe and language are drawn to Jesus when they hear his message.

Look at the next verse to get context.
John 12:32"And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."
33 But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.
Jesus is talking about being lifted up on the cross. It is there that He will pay for the sins of the world to reconcile to God all who come to Him.
_______
In Moses' day this happened.
Numbers 21:5The people spoke against God and Moses, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this miserable food."
6 The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.
7So the people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded for the people.
8 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live."
9 And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
Jesus spoke of this.
John 3:14 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

You need to read the next verse, it says this:
33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
He is referring to being lifted up on the cross. When Jesus died on the cross... he bore all the sins of the world on his shoulders. He was the link, the sacrifice needed to draw the people of the world to Him...and thus to the Father.
From what I understand, He died for all of us, whether we choose to follow Him or not. We are drawn to Him, it is up to use whether we shall stay or not. But, the sacrifice was made for us anyway... in order that all people might be saved.

Jesus is talking about
1. His death on the cross (being lifted up on a cross)
and
2. The praise of His work on the cross.
The way to draw people to Jesus is to lift Him up (as opposed to chasing people down the street with a Bible in an attempt to convert them).

In verse 33, John states " He said this to signify what kind of death He was about to die." Jesus meant if he is lifted up on the cross, He will draw all people to Him. I believe that truly means ALL will be drawn to Christ. Why else would He have said it?
ADD: In response to your follow up questions, the answer to all of them is YES. Thanks for sharing that.

that's what John is supposed to have said whether or not Jesus said it is disputable . sounds egotistical but on the other hand many an author and artist realize that their word and work is sometimes much more valualbe after their death.
