do it. Me personally I think they are possed by the devil. Whe God is agianst murder, why would these wretched parents murder their children in cold blood and say God made it do it. What a pathetic come back. And these are so called chrisitans. So if there is any real chrisitans out there how do you feel about it. It makes me sick. I just heard from a friend that this christian was going to pray to God to kill him. Just becasue he is wiccan. What a joke. I am a christian who is looking up and going up in my walk.I have had 2 abortions and that was before I became a christian and God did not tell me to do it. It was my decission. I just wished these people would stop proclaiming to be christians, they give us a bad name.

I have been seeing my boyfriend for over a year and a half. I was brought up Christian. I don't go to church but I believe in God and heaven, etc. My boyfriend isn't religious at all and only believes in evolution. He says that there is no God and that we just disapear.

This is putting a strain on our relationship. What should I do?

No I suppose this is just a debate topic as I think it is.

However how do you know that the bible is the final authority. Catholics can succesfully argue that nowhere does the current bible say that it is the final authority.

They believe that it needs to be examined in light of church history and the writings of the founding fathers of the church.

So what happens if a individual person tries to interpret the bible in light of itself. The answer is that many people can come to very different conclusions.

One will say it means this and another that it means that and both will think they are absolutly true.

Does anyone have any idea around this.

I've been around the church since I was 4 yrs. old.
I recall going the first time and feeling the presence of God during a revival that my Dad was invited too. He was Catholic at the time and that same night he was born again and filled with the Holy Ghost.
I have seen and heard somethings that are pitiful, and God has always kept me from offense in some way or another.
One time a friend asked me to go to a church ,she had seen the preacher on a one minute program on the midnight local news while up with her baby. It so happen to be my home church, but I was helping in another local church at the time.
So in going with her and her family... this was in 1991, they totally surrendered their lives to Christ and got involved with the ministry, cell groups and all. ISN'T GOD GOOD! Oh yes, and they were very devoted Catholics.
During this time the pastor where I was going resigned saying God had promoted him... turned out he had lied, had been having an affair. The church went....

Doesnt it seem hyporcritical to be for life on the front end but prohibit life on the back end once someone has made a terrible mistake. What I think is really hypocritical is how conservatives use religion as proof that abortion is immoral but then turn around and disregard it when putting people to death. Last time I checked the bible was against both

I mean, based on the media coverage he's getting...

Who are some people currently in the news that you are sick of hearing about?

David Beckham, his Posh wife, and the TB patient (Andrew Speaker) all need to vanish.

Currently, I'm rooting for the TB.

I personally don't beleive in God or religion. However if some 'being' presented itself before the human race and asked each one of us to justify our existence, or face eternal damnation in the fires of hell. What would you say?

I think i would copy what Lister from Red Dwarf said when asked that question, and say 'Spin on it', or something along those lines. I could never bow down to him/her/it.

I believe we have a lot of sexually frustrated priests here in the US and abroad. Many of Jesus' apostles were married, and I don't believe that Jesus preached that preachers in the church could not marry. The Catholic faith is a cult and not the true church as the Pope has recently annouced. Amazes me that there are so many blind followers of a church that has been plaqued by these nasty priests. How can they worship and not wonder who their priest is abusing. I'm sure there are many priest out there that have not been turned in to the authorities. I live in a small town in KS, and we have had two priests who were brought to trial in the last 10 years. How can any rational person believe that the Pope is a desendent of Jesus? He's just a man that has been given too much power. He is no more holy than you or I. I feel that their sick traditions need to come to an end.

So, I've had church people tell me that if I ever get raped that it's my fault! If I got raped then I must have been wearing something that attracted the man, it wasn't his fault that he was tempted, they said. Keep in mind I rarely even wear a dress, and am mostly found in a tank top and jeans or camo pants.
I was also told that wearing anything but a dress or long skirt is wrong and I would be damned; that along with cutting my hair short, because that showed that I had no respect for God or my father. I don't believe in God (sorry) and I sure have no respect for a man that abused me and tried twice to kill my mother!
Lastly I was told that I should be subservient to men, my father owned me until I was given to my husband--and the ownwership was just passed on to my husband!

Thankfully my fiance doesn't think any of this is right. We believe if God exists he doesn't damn you for appearance, rape is the attacker's fault, and men and women are equal.

What do you guys think?

I've tried looking it up but I can't seem to find it. I thought it was the first Council of Niceae. Another person's question has stated that someone proved to her that the Revelation of John was written in the 14th century which I know is absolutely incorrect because it was canonized before then.

many christians were quick to point out that he isn't a 'real christian' I was also told the same thing when priests do evil. It seems like anyone who does evil who is a christian isn't a 'real christian'!! Why is this? I thought all men are sinners? Also why do some christians go on about muslim extremists? They are not muslim? They are not real ones.....

I have, and I can verify that there most certainly atheists in foxholes -- and many more than you think, or care to accept.

They also served so that you could have the right to berate them with that kind of rhetorical nonsense.

1 Timothy 4:10
For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Especially of believers? What else is there?
