I've been around the church since I was 4 yrs. old.
I recall going the first time and feeling the presence of God during a revival that my Dad was invited too. He was Catholic at the time and that same night he was born again and filled with the Holy Ghost.
I have seen and heard somethings that are pitiful, and God has always kept me from offense in some way or another.
One time a friend asked me to go to a church ,she had seen the preacher on a one minute program on the midnight local news while up with her baby. It so happen to be my home church, but I was helping in another local church at the time.
So in going with her and her family... this was in 1991, they totally surrendered their lives to Christ and got involved with the ministry, cell groups and all. ISN'T GOD GOOD! Oh yes, and they were very devoted Catholics.
During this time the pastor where I was going resigned saying God had promoted him... turned out he had lied, had been having an affair. The church went....

people left and the wonderful things God was doing went up and out the steeple.
In saying this... this is my thoughts....
I believe God is going to show up and show out before Jesus returns for us. I believe God is going to take care of some issues that have continued for to long.
-lieing to the Holy Ghost
-swindleing peoples money
-sexual affairs of those in leadership
just to name a few<><

1968 -2007
I could write a book!
What I do know is TV doesn't have anything on what or how people out here are doing to make $ off of the seniors or the simple.
I callit white magic and it's really sad.
But..there are those who are real in what God has them do, and my prayer has always been that they be blessed and covered by the Holy Ghost.
For the rest...the Holy Ghost expose them for who they really are.

I believe more will be exposed. It is too bad a few "big names" have given Christianity bad names. As the end times come closer, there will be more "signs" from the devil, and God will also provide signs through his workers. I believe this because the plagues during the time of Moses, are similiar to the ones seen in Revelation. So I believe that also many will be tried by fire on this earth, and what has been in the shadows, will come to Light.

God gave us free will and expects us to use it wisely. We are all sinners we might not all be adulators and liars but we are still all sinners. I don't think going to a revival is a permanent fixture in your life. I find they get people all stirred up for the few minutes they are involved then go back to their normal way of life afterwards.
The Church has had good and bad people all through its existence. You could start with Peter who denied Jesus 3 times. Just because a few people sins are exposed doesn't mean the Church is wrong, it wants the best for everyone. God gave us the 10 commandments because He loved us so much He didn't want us to complicate our lives. Everytime you see people break those commandments they end up on another talk show.
Those Catholics who go to other faith worships do so because they think they can't get spiritual enlightenment in their own Church. Those are the 80% uninformed who haven't learned anything since they were 7 years old. You must continually learn about your own faith or you wander off looking for the easiest way.

Preachers and pastors are not God. We keep thinking we are to follow man and not follow Christ. You do not have to be a christian to be a preachers or pastor or anything else for that matter to lead in the church. That is why the scripture teaches we are to trust no man but God.

God works through the holy spirit. When a person obey the word of God His holy spirit comes unto that person to guide them into the ways of God through Christ Jesus.

God is a loving God and full of grace and mercy...But he is also just! God will bring to light our sins if we do not repent of them... It is our choice! WOW! great question...really very thought provoking!

First off, there is good and bad in every church, and in every ministry. Some ppl call themselves Christian, and use that label, but dont know God at all. God says many have a false form of godliness, tho they arent His at all. So we cant judge all the tv preachers, or any other Christians by the standards of which some will live. ANd when they do fall, we must pray to lift them up, for God to show them mercy and grace and bring them to HIs true heart. BUt, we are never to look to anyone to help us hold on to our faith, and we are never to let go of our faith, when anyone falls, even a pastor. God says by their fruits you will know them, meaning by their actions. If they are acting like Christians, they are born again, and if they arent acting like Cristians then they are not Gods at all. By acting christian, I mean not really acting, but BEING LIKE JESUS CHRIST< to love Like Him, Walk like Him, forgie Like Him, speak like Him. lall of it and in doing so will be living a holy life by being just like JEsus Chrsit, some hate to obey and say its so hard, whatever. BUt when you are fully surrenders to JESus Christ, you will have His desires and its not hard to live like Jesus at all. We cant do it on our own, but we do it by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, by the annointing power from the Holy Spirit and we know that when Jesus died, WE gained back so much, as in our ability to overcome sin, thru the teachings of Jesus and the Holy Spirit that comes upon us when we are born again and fully surrender to the Lord. The ppl that are leaders that do fall, have upon them a serious obligation , and they will cause many to fall, and GOD will deal with them about that. ITs our job to pray and to get out the word that we are to look to noone for our faith, but Jesus Chrsit. ANd we keep praying for all those that dont really know Him yet, including the ones we see falling so hard. They still need Jesus too, no matter what positions they are in. WE dont know the heart, but God does. I know of a few ppl that really did love God, but sturuggled with sexual sins due to their upbringing, and they still struggle. If you are beaten by your mom, and whipped to almost beaten for being caught touching yourself at 12, it messes your mind up. To simply explain why God says it is wrong, is one thing, but to shame and humiliate someone, let alone in front of others. They were TWO BROTHERS< literally forced to wear signs on them that sad they are sinners, and need to repent, and then forced all over the neighborhood with these signs knocking on doors to tell ppl and then headed off to church to be shamed there. Now thats not of God, but those ppl believed it was, and yes they did love their sons. But false teachings led to this and now those two guys are all grown up with horrid struggles. Yes they will have to give it up, yes yes yes. But God will see the heart of ppl and its not our place to judge, let alone condemn. same with most rapists and stuff, no background histroy is any execuse, but it will sure be a reason. PPl must learn to overcome curse from the past with JEsus Chrsit, and know it can be done. Are we telling them?? We need to.
Mankind will always let us down, but God never will, this is why it is only He we look to for our faith. Many that fall do want to know God, but are so held in bondage from their pasts that they just seem blinded. But Jesus can break that curse, if they ask and we must continue to pray for them and try to show ppl like this. Love them and encourage them, not slap them downn and condemn. Let He who is without sin cast the first stone......
As for your stated Bible VErse...
God will deal with sin and the ppl that are doing it. PPL will be dealt with, and God has victory over sin. When we lie to the Holy Spirit, we have lied to God BEcasue the Holy Spirit is God God hates all deciet and it will be dealt with. There wont be hatefulness and dishonesty in Heaven For anyone to deceive Gods ppl is a horrible offense, and when a leader does it, it comes with even more seirous consequences. In my study notes it added this and it says a lot. Hypocrisy means using Jesus' shed blood to glorify their OWN self before their ppl. There is no place for that in Gods kingdom. This particular sindisregards the very purpose for which Jesus suffered and died. It shows no regard for the Lord, no fear of Him (AWE) and it will be met with Gods judgment. SO all we can do is love them and pray . They must, as we all must, learn to become humble, and to have fear AWE of the Lord, to repent of their sins and turn from them. Without a proper fear AWE of the Lord, and HIs wrath, ppl will return to their evil and wicked ways, and will cease the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and Gods miraculous presence. They will be cut off the flow of Gods grace. The fear AWE of the Lord is an essential element in the NT faith and still in Christianity today.
God wants us to know Jesus to be like Jesus by the power of the indwelling Holy SPirit, so to not hear God anymore is serious business, ti will lead to loss of salvation, unless a person will come back to God and hear only His voice once again, and do as God says for them to do.LIving a holy live is possible, as Jesus gave us the power to overcome sin with the Holy Spirit, to lose that is to lose everything So be praying for those we see that fall, and more especially even so for the leaders. SOme on tv ministry are wonderful and some arent, but lets just praise God for the great ones of the Lord and pray for the ones that arent, and stop looking at those that fall as just another exeucse to abondon all our other beliefs. JEsus didnt fall and thats what matters. amen Great question.
