For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Traditional Armenian belief holds that Christ's salvation is extended to ALL mankind, even those who reject it, but it is our personal choice to take or leave that salvation. So it is given to all people, thus he is the savior of all, but it is only the believers who chose to accept him as thus.

Meaning it is esspecially the believers who labor and strive, due to their knowledge in the Word, they have hope in the Living God.
Christ, being the Savior of all men because
a person who is not a believer today, may very well be a believer tomorrow. In other words, don't count out those who are non-believers too quickly; we all find God on different paths, and at different times.

One version adds this to the scripture.
vs10 With a view to this we toil and strive, [yes and] [a]suffer reproach, because we have [fixed our] hope on the living God, Who is the Savior (Preserver, Maintainer, Deliverer) of all men, especially of those who believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to Him).

That sounds to me like Paul is speaking of God doing these things in the flesh. It sounds to me reading this that he is saying that God protects, preserves and delivers everyone at times in physical ways( like saving someone miraculously from a car accident) but His watchful eye is especially on believers. Paul isn't saying here that all men will be saved spiritually especially believers.

This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.
Well you cannot be saved unless you accept the gift of God.

YAHWEH would that all men would be saved & have etermal life in HIS KINGDOM. The door to salvation is open only to a very select few at this point & time; not select by mans reckoning, but by YAHWEH'S HIMSELF. HE know how dificult these times are that we're living in, & only those who are believers are being judged at this time, cf. 1PETER 4:17. However, in the end of all things, as the Plan of YAHWEH comes to pass, the majority of all people who has ever lived will be saved. This will be the WORK OF YAHWEH through HIS SON YAHSHUA MESSIAH!!! It means we are hardly suffering from harship and keeping wise because we are happy to be save by the living God because he is the saviour of mankind as well as those who believe on him.

well the last part is saying that even if you don't believe in God, he's still the "Savior of all men"
the entire verse means: everything we do should be because we have hope in our Lord.

You know, I think the organized religion people who set up the Bible as it is today must have missed that. They wanted everyone to believe that they could only be saved by belonging to the church, but from my gnostic point of view, I think they goofed when they let this verse in.

Jesus died for the sins of the world... so that technically speaking all people are potentially saved. The opportunity to validate it and finalize it is there for each person. But it becomes valid and especially true of those who believe and ACCEPT the deal.
