Is it someone who has progressed a long ways in the Christian faith?
Is it someone who has embraced the world's humanistic and anti-scriptural philosophies such as evolution, homosexuality, the government is the answer to the world's problems, abortion, global warming, etc.?
Or is it something else...which is?

I am sure that you are all familiar with "Its not your deeds that get you into heaven but by believing in Jesus" and "If you are not with Jesus you are against him, you can only choose one or the other, and by not choosing one your effectively choosing the other" Did I get that right?

If so, answer this. Lets just say that I am an evil person, I mean I do the most horrible things to people - I kill them, violate them in the worst ways possible, kill, cut up and eat little children, kill innocent people, ruin lives, torture others, etc etc and I do this my entire life, an entire life of horrible deeds, yet on my deathbed I accept Christ and ask for forgiveness...will I go to heaven or hell?

What about my friend who has devoted his entire life to helping out others, countlessly risking his life to make someone elses better? He has given up all his worldy possessions just to be able to help those less fortunate, but doesnt believe in Jesus....will he go to heaven or hell?

I was reading that, according to Hinduism, sanscrit is the language of the Gods. Moreover, the sound waves that are produced when one speaks in sanscrit have unique mystical properties associated with them. That is why the Gayatri mantra is being used on mentally ill people, because of its powerful healing effects.

So why do so many Hindus recite the mantras quitely??? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of reciting mantras altogether if they are not spoken out loud???

Are there any advanced Hindus that can clarify???

I was raised in a family with out religion, we were never told as kids that god existed, and i was unfamiliar with what religion was until i went to school for the first time, when kids would talk about church and god, and i would go home and ask my parents about it, they told me about with an open mind. But what I'm really wondering is Why are atheists so unaccepted? when it would come out in school that i was an atheist, some kids would stop talking to me, others would call me a devil, when i was always under the impression that you were supposed to accept and love all people under religion. I have been ostracized and hassled for my lack of religion, even though i never had it to begin with, so what i'm wondering is why if your religous would you treat some one so differently who is not?

Can you prove that? Isn't that just propaganda to get people to come to your church? Is that your way to help people? Convince them that they are really miserable? Are all non-Christians really miserable? I see proof of that being false.

Has there ever been such a waste of time and energy as the constant debate about God?

Athiests: Religious types NEED to keep telling themselves their own beliefs to reinforce them within themselves. This is an active choice, and on some level I bet most of them know the truth, but no amount of arguing will change their minds. How can you use reason and logic to convince someone of something, when that person clearly will not use critical thinking skills?

Religous people: You will not convert anyone online. You are trying to relate your own perceptions of things that have no measurable value to them, and an athiest wil not bite at this. It is your right to believe whatever you want, but judging people and asking snide questions will not sell your point either.

The whole debate is pointless, neither side will give.

I'm a Christian, and I tend to notice that people don't tend to notice God's forgiveness. It seems like not many believe this. I'm strongly opposed to the deadly sins Catholics made up. I also don't quite like manners. How do you feel about the freedom?

The most common response is that not all priests commit these crimes. It is just a few bad apples. Why do you allow one bad apple! The other response is that other religions have ministers that commit the same crimes. That is not OK either. You MUST NOT GIVE THE CHURCH ONE DIME! You act like it is an attack on you because it is the Priest and the Catholic Church that commits these crimes and has you hypnotized.

One of the LA Victims this morning on the FOX NEWS stated that he will go after more Priests with the money he was just awarded. Now there is courage!

If you are a true Catholic you should NOT GIVE THEM ONE PENNY and really make the Church Hierarchy pay for their sins.

When my wife and I saw a problem at my church I got the door slammed in my face by the Diocese in Monterey and they hid like rats hoping I would go away. We called the police and nothing then got threatened by my fellow parishioners for bringing it up. Typical Catholic Cowards!

In the beginning according to the bible when Adam and Eve were created everything was in perfect harmony. Until Humans disobeyed God and they suddenly became concious that they were being unclothed all along and got embarrassed by it. Now i believe this is an example where ignorance is bliss. I dont care how you see this story as whether youre a religious or non religious but i hope you see the metaphor in the story. Mans knowledge can be its own downfall. If you were not given choices and only led to believe one thing... it may not be democracy... but if there is no stress, no sadness, no anxiety .... would freedom to choose be a high price to pay for in a perfect world?

an idea which was also expressed in the book The Giver by Lois Lowry...

Im just saying what i think... it is democracy afterall and everyone have the right to information.

A long time ago man and wolves befriended each other. We breed them to our liking, and created every breed of dog alive today. How do you explain that without evolution?

who was also mentioned as the son of God:
Adam the Son of God?
Luke 3:38
.... which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

and if you claim that Jesus wasn't created, then for sure he was created inside his mother Marry, God created his bones, nerves, legs, eyes, arms, head, and every piece of his origins. so Jesus was also a creation just like how Adam was also created. The only difference is Adam had no father or mother human, and Eve don't have father or mother either. if God created Adam He then can created Jesus indeed.

We're talking about the most backward, uneducated and bigoted section of America. Whoever those people hate the most is quite likely to be the most decent human being in the race.
