I'm a Christian, and I tend to notice that people don't tend to notice God's forgiveness. It seems like not many believe this. I'm strongly opposed to the deadly sins Catholics made up. I also don't quite like manners. How do you feel about the freedom?

sassinya, you are right. We try to do good, but I think the only real commandment is love. The reason we do good is not because we are forced to, but because we want to/
Fat Mack, I think stealing and lying can be as bad as neglecting to pray. You shouldn't neglect to talk to God. Sometimes sin isn't stealing, sometimes it's living a dead life. Jesus was AMAZING!! Christianity isn't dull lectures, but an awesome presence.

dog_skyhigh, I'm glad you understand. Also, I have a huge problem with the seven deadly sins of Catholicism.

I think it is hard for us to understand just how much God loves us. So many see Him as the Big POliceman in the sky, but there is the most wonderful video online, search out "Father's Love Letter" and watch it. The pictures and music are like a love lullaby to use from God. I think everyone even non believers would enjoy it.

Amazing how many answers to this are based upon ignorance.

Scripture says the Christian is (now) freed from sin.

How? Why?

Because the Christian lives by faith. The Christian has embraced and partaken of the first "tree" now; the tree of Life, aka Jesus Christ. The other tree can no longer condemn him or her.

And what does that other tree represent? What in Scripture gives a knowledge of good AND evil? What defined sin? What resulted in a death penalty, even as this fruit resulted in death?

Does anyone here really bother to think things through?

A Christian is not free from sin in the sense that he never commits another sin. If he is serious about his relationship with God and Jesus, he earnestly strives to avoid sin, and his sins are more of the neglect-to-pray type than the steal-and-lie type.

He is free from sin in the sense that he knows he can repent and be forgiven and endure to the end and receive his exaltation.

I feel freedom from sin in the sense that I am not condemning of self or self-loathing when I make a mistake. That is the freedom of sin for me. However, freedom from sin is not a license to sin and I still believe in being the best you can be and trying to live Christ-like. We all fall short, yes... but obedience to Gods wishes and ways are pretty important after the salvation.

Many Christians do not understand the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. And yes, to your question. This may be a shock to many of you, but what I have read from Catholic services - they said they are not Christians.

Yes, we are free from sin when we enter heaven to be with God. Sin is man-made. Therefore, when we die we are free from sin because we're not men or women any longer.

"If we are not free from sin, then we can never enter heaven"

What I wouldn't give for a baseball bat and 5 minutes alone in a room with people who profess this kind of nonsense.
