The most common response is that not all priests commit these crimes. It is just a few bad apples. Why do you allow one bad apple! The other response is that other religions have ministers that commit the same crimes. That is not OK either. You MUST NOT GIVE THE CHURCH ONE DIME! You act like it is an attack on you because it is the Priest and the Catholic Church that commits these crimes and has you hypnotized.

One of the LA Victims this morning on the FOX NEWS stated that he will go after more Priests with the money he was just awarded. Now there is courage!

If you are a true Catholic you should NOT GIVE THEM ONE PENNY and really make the Church Hierarchy pay for their sins.

When my wife and I saw a problem at my church I got the door slammed in my face by the Diocese in Monterey and they hid like rats hoping I would go away. We called the police and nothing then got threatened by my fellow parishioners for bringing it up. Typical Catholic Cowards!

Hate. It is love. Just a zero tolerance policy to child abuse.

the more money they get the more abuse they can pay off--
p.s. most of it was paid by an insurance policy--but still
making the church rich is not the answer to anything

That is some hate, I will pray for you.

Do you know about all of the steps the Church has taken to fix this problem?

So you are saying that all of the hundreds of thousands of Priests and Religious people are all bad because of just a few or as you put it just one bad apple?

Christians are still human, and the Church is made up of humans.

Who is this Church hierarchy that you are punishing? The Priests and Bishops have taken a vow of poverty, Pope John Paul left this world with nothing. What is going to be hurt is the good works that the Church does for those in need. I see no reason for rejoicing over that.

I pray for peace for you!

Do you always walk away from organizations just because isolated instances of wrongdoing were found within that organization? I will not abandon my beliefs. I'm not merely a fair-weather friend, and I don't walk away at the first sign of things turning bad. Yes, the bad clergy should (and must) be driven out, and not just out of Catholicism, but from all religions. If Catholics withheld money, what would happen to the centuries-long tradition of Catholic charity that has helped so many people? Are we to defy Jesus' mandates to serve others with Christian charity just because there is a scandal going on in the Church? Catholic charity is very effective, and like any other relief effort, it takes funding to keep going.
