I actually know the answer to this question but it appears to me that many people on here don't really know. So I decided to set the record straight. So do you think the Pope got rid of the idea of Purgatory or not and why.

Whether homosexuality is considered a complete unrepentable sin because I disagree with that. I find the Catholic Church a bit too hierarchal and power obsessed so I'm looking for an alternative path.
Could anyone answer my question and give as much information as they can in simple words to explain the principles of Eastern Orthodox?

Thanks

"My long-time view about Christianity is that it represents an amalgam of two seemingly immiscible parts--the religion of Jesus and the religion of Paul. Thomas Jefferson attempted to excise the Pauline parts of the New Testament. There wasn't much left when he was done, but it was an inspiring document." (Letter to Ken Schei [author of Christianity Betrayed and An Atheists for Jesus]) - Carl Sagan

"Where possible Paul avoids quoting the teaching of Jesus, in fact even mentioning it. If we had to rely on Paul, we should not know that Jesus taught in parables, had delivered the sermon on the mount, and had taught His disciples the 'Our Father.' Even where they are specially relevant, Paul passes over the words of the Lord."-Albert Schweitzer

"Paul created a theology of which none but the vaguest warrants can be found in the words of Christ."

"Fundamentalism is the triumph of Paul over Christ."

-Wil Durant (Philospher)

"Paul hardly ever allows the real Jesus of Nazareth to get a word in." (U.S. News and World Report, April 22, 1991, p. 55)

-Carl Jung (Psychologist)

Bishop John S. Spong (Episcopal Bishop of Newark)

"Paul's words are not the Words of God. They are the words of Paul- a vast difference." (Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism, p. 104, Harper San Francisco, 1991)

-Bishop John S. Spong (Episcopal Bishop of Newark

If married, don't you have to have sex to officially be married? Consummation or whatever.

And if single, could it be that she lied about having sex with someone?

I am just trying to make sense of everything, not trying to stir anything up.

Some people believe we have animals as guides or instincts that replicate animal behaviours.

At any case, if you have (were to have) an animal inside, what would it be?

Mine is the horse ^^ I dunno why but I act like one and laugh like one too hehe

This is a very broad statement, but Christians break this Commandment on a daily basis. I thought that the fight to keep the 10 Commandments in courthouses was a great idea as long as these commandments are the word of God, given directly to man from God. Is there a list that supercedes this law or what?

All answers are welcome. I want to know what christians have been told about him. In the little reading I've done, I'm curious what the church has to say about him. I cant seem to find any info on him, other than him being just another hitler. but I'm simply gathering info at this point, so any is appreciated.

I'm very well read when it comes to religion and religious history and I find it interesting that biblical scholars feel that the bible is a history of the past and Revelations was a historical documentary of Nero's Rome. Did you also know that "the rapture" isn't stated in the bible?
