Dearest Pangel,

I see you`re a hell of an organizer. You`re idea sounds great...i.e...if it is feasible indeed. Can you do it globally? with different timetables? I`m sure you need days for arrangements...or else, quite impossible, really !!!

I do hope you have great intention for unity, peace & understanding among civilized people on earth. You should be doing screenings for civilized ones, open minded and willing to listen, learn & teach...and excludes close-mindedness attitudes, troubling & fanatical ones.
You should not be acting like a controversial journalist who watch everybody fights, just hope for the survival of fittest...and later report to the world of a chaotic discussion of faith & belief.

I am myself into "Interfaith discussion" in my country and I really find it...such great project. You can make it global for your sake`s intention.

I am into your project as long as it helps people find their way to better life. Just keep me in touch!

Pangel,
I would like to discuss everyone's idea of creation in one place and without anything negative about others. I would also like to see a discussion of the religious people as to their differences and similarities in belief. I would also like to see the Christians discuss their differences and similarities and why they may read a passage different than another so-called Christian. I really am interested in being a part of this group if you begin to do so. Have a wonderful evening and a glorious week.
Thank you,
Eds

To host such a discussion group, you need to be:

1 a very very strong charismatic personality, capable of inspiring instant respect from all, in order to control the group,

2 very fair-minded, and knowledgable in all Faiths,

3 thick-skinned, because you'll get flak from everyone,

4 willing to take the problems of the world on your shoulders -- the neuotics (like me) will hunt you out and demand your time until you have to be rude to them.

Courageous friend, may your God go with you.

What a lovely question.
I would love to see people of different beliefs come together to discuss the things we all have in common. There are too many arguments over who is 'right' or 'wrong' when it would be far more beneficial & create much needed harmony, if we were to look at the great overlaps from one person to another. In the great scheme of things I think we have far more in common than we often appreciate.
Love & good wishes.

That would be a fun discussion on a variety of topics. I'd be interested in the concepts of free will versus determinism from a religious viewpoint, biological viewpoint, psychological viewpoint and philosophical viewpoint, including how the tension is handled in a variety of historical traditions.

Also interesting would be, are there any common threads in all major religious systems ("major" meaning systems that a lot of people have heard of)?

Pangel! Sweetie, if you're looking for inspiration and lots of good fodder for a good discussion night, look no further than the Peace and Enlightenment blog, at the URL below.

Latest edition just went up about 48 hours ago. Dozens of contributions from all traditions and all over the world, and all about Peace and Enlightenment.

If you're going to have an intelligent, open-minded and mature discussion, I don't know that you could really include those whose religion clearly advocates or prescribes death and/or eternal torment of those who have different beliefs. I mean, realistically, can you have a friendly conversation with someone who truly believes you should be dead or tortured?
I'm really not trying to pick a fight here, but I think it's a valid point.

I just don't know if I would like to be involved in this or just watch from the sidelines....the only time we really come
together is the Raids...which is really amazing...we all go somewhere and have
so much fun, I am almost throwing up from laughing...then we come back on R & S
and everyone reverts back...I find this very strange behavior...I don't understand at all.

Sure it would end in tears, days not long enough, you wouldnt have a clue what they were on about, no one can posses the knowledge needed to "discuss"other peoples "gods" you would have to have a meeting of 2, any more than that would be impossible, nice idea, but unworkable.

I'd love to join in. You already know that I'm one of the good guys and only defend myself and not go on the offensive. I've opened up my Yahoo mail to you for tonight only. I hate getting spammed, if you know what I mean (((Pangel)))
