There is no forgiveness apart from repentance. You have to believe that God is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him before you will repent. Unbelief is not forgivable because as long as you don't believe then you are not repenting of the sin of unbelief.

We have discussed blasphemy against the holy spirit as being the "unforgivable sin". The unltimate source of truth is NOT man's opinion or wishful thinking. Mind you as discussed in an earlier answer it is extremely hard to sin against the holy spirit. When you view exactly what sins God has forgiven in the Bible we come to understand this. For instance King Manasseh king of Judah. He did what was bad in God's eyes and promoted worhip of false Gods, sacrificed his own sons to them and shed much blood. He ignored Jehovah God's warnings and prophets and rebelled greatly. All this sounds to us unforgivable, but for some reason Manesseh whilst in prison humbly begged God's forgiveness and repented of his sins by STOPPING that conduct and taking steps to fix what he had done formerly. For some reason Jehovah God forgave him. I am sure not many of us have come near to committing those sort of sins. Unyet Jesus said in Matthew 12:31 "On this account I say to you, Every sort of sin and blasphemy WILL BE FORGIVEN men, BUT the blasphemy against the spirit WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN." Now these are Jesus words, we cannot argue them, however one must examine all the scriptures to get the full picture of what he was talking about. But if Jehovah forgives murder I'm sure he can forgive us to...but once we know it is wrong we MUST STOP, and ask for forgiveness.

Ok. So like what is the "Mechanism" for Gods' "Forgiveness" as U see it??? Can God Love Us when we Sin Constantly??? The Scripture says that God gave Us His Son as a "Final Perfect Sacrifice" for our Sinful condition. So that by Accepting Christ we should not Perish, but spend Eternity with God. So, is there a Sin that Christ Could Not "Pay For"??? The Un-Pardonable Sin??? What would it be??? The "Un-Pardonable Sins" is "Failure to Believe in Christ"!!! It is the Only Sin Christ could Not Pay for!!! So Yes, it is a Reality!!! John

The Sin you are asking about is mentioned at Matthew 12:31,32.
the unforgivable sin is sin against the Holy Spirit. read it and you also will find that Jesus & the Spirit is not the same one but actually the Power that is used by God & by Jesus to accomplish a certain purpose. hth.

Where did you get that idea? Forgiveness is contingent upon repentance.

Is 55:6,7 Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

It's true. If we reject God, it's unforgivable. The only way for that to be forgiven is to re-accept Him.

God is oft forgiving.
Best thing to do is not test God, unless you feel lucky!

It is an example of something that is true, but highly unlikely to occur.
