In essence, don't waste your time giving the truths of Scripture to those who are vile, blasphemous, evil or in active opposition to God. They will trample on those truths and then turn on you. If you are speaking to someone about the things of God and the Gospel of grace, be sensitive to their reaction. If they seem interested, feed them more, if they revile you, respond in anger or blasphemy, walk away.

Being too critical of others, magnifying their faults and picking on them, is a serious offense. So Jesus asks: “How can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the straw from your eye’; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw from your brother’s eye.”
This does not mean that Jesus’ disciples are to use no discernment in connection with other people, for he says: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine.” The truths from God’s Word are holy. They are like figurative pearls. But if some individuals, who are like dogs or swine, show no appreciation for these precious truths, Jesus’ disciples should leave those people and seek out those who are more receptive.

The bible likens non-believers in Jesus to swine because pigs were considered an unclean animal in Jewish law. Casting your pearls before swine means don't share certain spiritual experiences or insight with them because they won't understand it and will only mock you for it.

It's means that it is of no use to try to share a person's "pearls" of wisdom with a foolish person (swine), because the fool will not listen and will only do their best to beat you down and insult you.

it means giving the wrong thing to the being in front of you and then judging him because of your mistake. pealrs have no meaning for a pig, they cannot satisfy any of its needs. humans, however think pearls are so hot because they're expensive and you can make baubles out of them.
you give them to the swine and he's like "forget about this crap, give me some gruel to eat", and you judge him and feel all superior. but who is it that really falls for the wothless shiny things?

That someone doesn't care or think enough about someone else to put any real effort into a conversation so they through out that crap line and walk away with a false sense of superiority.

Depends on how it's used. Pearls might look good on a pig... I've never put any on one, but you just never knows what lurks in the minds...

Like on this forum I don't bother answering questions of those who are clearly just belittling Christians and blaspheming.

It means that the artist, Pastis, is probably going to make me want to hurt Rat or Pig again.
Zebra's pretty cool though.
