I dont think there will be anything to match the atrocities of the priests,or the associated cover ups.

The thing is, how would you know the pedophiles who were atheists? The ones that are priests are pretty obvious. And like it has been said before, their religion isn't at issue, it's their position of trust. Priests SHOULD be trusted and should NOT be protected by the church.

It shouldn't be what priests do, it's what pedophiles (who happen to be priests, athiests, teachers, coaches) do. Pedophiles choose those professions b/c of the proximity to children. What makes it so bad for the priests is the Catholic Church covered it up for so long. We just have to remember they're pedophiles first who chose a specific profession. All of those in those professions aren't pedophiles. 2D

You don't hear nearly as many accounts of this other places, because the Church is more transparent, and doesn't blindly and expensively settle out of courts to keep things secret.

It's not reported because it is not sensational. People expect this from Atheists (sorry that's just how it goes)
