I bet he would be handsome. He is an angel, and a deciever, in which case he would hide his evil with beauty.

What do you think?

He said only Catholics were able to gain Salvation. Also that other churchs weren't really churches because their leaders did not evolve from a succession of apostles.

Is taking one "E" a sin if you haven't used it for about 2 or 3 years. Just for one good night out? Wil I get punished for it?

It is commonly held among Christendom that the Scriptures are divinely inspired. Jesus, Paul, Peter, John, almost all of the disciples and writers of the New Testament quoted extensively from the Old.
As a matter of fact, Peter unequivocally states that all prophecy came from God, and Paul says all Scriptures come from God (not verbatim).
What do you think ?
Personally, I think only the Old Testament is actually divinely inspired, because the New Testament books had to go thru man made requirements in order to be declared inspired.
But I might be wrong, and this is not to say I believe and adhere and follow only the Old Testament.

Proverbs 26:4 says that you shouldn't, to avoid becoming a fool yourself.
Proverbs 26:5 says that you should, so he doesn't go around thinking that he is wise.

Which is right? Is there, perhaps, another scripture that reconciles these two directives?

Please humor this old fool (believe me, I'm guilty of LOTS of folly) with your answers. Thanks.

John 2:13-16"The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. Making a whip of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, both the sheep and the cattle. He also poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. He told those who were selling the doves, "Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!"

Surely, there could have been a better way to handle this.

If you've read my other questions, you'll see I'm very caught up in the God/religion/atheist thing. And that I very much understand where atheists are coming from and how they feel. In fact, often I look at the world as atheists do (even though I am Christian) and I look around and see how they can feel a loving God can not possibly exist in this place full of hate. But my question is, do any atheists think that the very existence of LOVE is the strongest possible reason God does exist?? I mean, I know there is hate (plenty of it for sure), but there has to be hate and indifference in order for love to be as powerful as it is. And I personally believe that were there no God, humans might be capable of liking one another and getting along okay, but that love is something totally unique and so undefinable itmust come from something greater than us. Even if you don't agree with me 100%, I just want to know if any athesist/agnostics can see my point at all?? Just wanna discuss. Thanks

If someone found out that God didn't exist and had cold hard proof what would you do? I'm a bit iffy about God and that but I would be absolutly devostated if someone found it out. Millions of people all over the world believe these things, and at the moment with all these desasters, I just think that after all this time, there wouldn't be any hope. There wouldn't be anything when you die, and never that securety that someone is watching over you, and will look after you when you can't talk to anyone else. Gloabl warming is one major thing as well. Within 50 years there will be no water left and everyone will be starving because of more people having kids and less land for farmers to grow food on. Everyone would need someone there then, and they're wouldn't be anyone to save us, because we've brought it upon ourselves. Kinda creepy, isn't it? Just knowing that there wouldn't be any paradise, just blackness... I really do hope God exists!

When Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemene, he said Father please let this cup pass away, ... but not as I wilt but as thou wilt.

If Jesus knew the reason for his going to the cross and it had to be done, why would He pray that? Was He really asking to be excused from all that he had to yet do?

Also, on the cross, why did Jesus say "My God why has thou forsaken me"? If Jesus knew who he was, and who his Father was, why did he say that? He knew that he had to do the work on the cross, why would He consider it God forsaking Him? or was something going on that he actually felt cut off from God?

What do these verses really mean?
