Everyone has an opinion on this, and I'd like to hear what they are. Suppose killing one innocent could save 2, or 10 or 100 more. Is it worth it? DO the ends justify the means? Why or why not?

The story about the salt was a metaphor. The mentioning of salt can actually mean that she was given knowledge in this context. Many of the stories in the Bible were never intended to be true and are just metaphors to teach us how we should live our lives. The story of Lot of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is a good example of a story to live by.

Agree?

I feel if america does not open its eyes to these mulsim extremest living right here, we could lose the very freedom we have today. This country was founded on christian values and now we are allowing strange religions into our capitol to lead prayers (they claim). There is a muslim temple in our neighborhood which is locted next to a main power center. What's up with that picture?

How can anyone assert that life arose spontaneously from non-living matter sometime in the unobservable past when it has already been scientifically proven by Louis Pasteur that this is impossible? Why do some people blindly accept the idea of spontaneous life sprouting up on Earth not only in the absence of empirical proof but in direct contradiction to current scientific findings?

Yes, oh yes..... Im a grandmother to a beautiful 18 month old grandson. Its completely different to being a parent.
Are you a grandparent too?
What do you enjoy about your role?
How do you feel it's different to just parenting?
(Please don't take 'just' to mean I think parenting is ever easy or straightforward!)

What happens when a person denies their God-given sexuality and tries to live up to what the world expects them to?

Ever heard of Ted Haggard, Jim McGreivy, or Loonnie Latham?

Check out this guy...a Southern Baptist big-shot...married to a woman, pastor of a church ...and he is caught soliciting men for sex?

So, my question is this...is it better for these people to live a lie, get married and try to be "straight"....or would it be better for them to acknowledge who they are and accept themselves the way God made them?

How many people are hurt when these people who are trying to be straight screw up? The families involved, the congregations, etc...

...of morality in theism. Could it be productive to have a "Morality Summit" where representatives of several ideals discuss, debate, and record the morals that they agree on, and then submit that list to the public?

If such a thing became well recognized, it could find it's way into legislation through regular democratic voting practices. Or maybe just tell me how dumb you think that is...

I want other peoples thoughts on this:
-I don’t believe the bible as a divine piece of work but a great moral/ethical guide (but not to base our life on it)
-Jesus may have been real but not the son of god, messenger/prophet. Married Mary(which I thought of way before Da Vinci Code wave) and fathered a child. Died on the cross for what he believe and practiced yes for our “sins” no. Resurrected no, body hidden yes. Divinity later determined by a counsel of men yes
-God, a supreme being, possibly. There had to be a lot of energy released when the universe was created. Beings could’ve been created at a higher plane of existence, to which we can achieve through deep meditation. Could these being have influnced early mankind, yes; thus our ancestors making them gods/ess. And through which man has molded and shaped and thus created the Abrahamic God (only capitalized because its became his/hers name).

In my last question I asked if it were possible to convince our children that ridiculous things were true, and we all agreed that it was. So I think that might be fun to try. What should we teach them?
