The eyes are the "window" to the soul. Because through someones eyes you can glimpse the persons true center their soul. Smiles can lie but the eyes never do.

I thought it was window to the soul... anyway I guess it is because our experience shows in our eyes. If we are heavily burdened our eyes become dark, clowdy. When we experience enlightenment our eyes shine bright with the brightness of all the positive energy moving through us.
