Hello, all:

I'm curious about what other Neo-Pagans consider to be sacred writings, or at least commonly accepted liturgy within their chosen path? For myself, the Charge of the Goddess and the Charge of the God (Wiccan) are the only pieces of liturgy that I use consistently. While I may advise beginners to read certain authors or books, I do not consider any Wiccan writings to be "gospel" in the Christian sense; to me, what is sacred is contained in nature and the world around us, and the lessons are there for anyone to read.

As always, thanks in advance to all who take the time to respond.

Are there some bits that you think are symbolic.
Do you think God asked people to sacrifice there child on an altar, or asked for the sacking of citys because they didnt believe in him. (old testament)

If you do, who decides which parts really happened.

I am a Roman Catholic, and I do not take the bible literally, I just want to know if any one does.

SOmeone was standing on Wallstreet and Broadway today in front of Trinity church dressed as an orthodox priest and having a flashing light on his belt and a big cross

He had a sign that said The ACLU (in black) JEWS ( in red) ARE ANTICHRIST
with no explaination or specifics or suggestions for change. People tried to talk to him and he just made karate type movements with his "crucifix"

He also had kinda an evil insensative smile and made no attempt to actually talk to people who tried to talk to him although he threatened to call the police or sue some people if they tried to touch him... odd thing to say for a priest... not odd for a lawyer dressed as a priest?

I don't see any possible good coming form what he did... do you

Latter-day Saints employ vast amounts of money in investments that TIME estimates to be at least $6 billion strong. Even more unusual, most of this money is not in bonds or stock in other peoples' companies but is invested directly in church-owned, for-profit concerns, the largest of which are in agribusiness, media, insurance, travel and real estate. Deseret Management Corp., the company through which the church holds almost all its commercial assets, is one of the largest owners of farm and ranchland in the country, including 49 for-profit parcels in addition to the Deseret Ranch. Besides the Bonneville International chain and Beneficial Life, the church owns a 52% holding in ZCMI, Utah's largest department-store chain. (For a more complete list, see chart.) All told, TIME estimates that the Latter-day Saints farmland and financial investments total some $11 billion, and that the church's nontithe income from its investments exceeds $600 million.

I think that your God would rapture me before any of you Christians on here.

To all you who write that "when" rapture happens that you will be gone. Does your God really approve of Holier then thou behavior? I think not.

For instance, some options might be:
respect life
love your fellow human
take care of the earth
always act out of love

Would any of you demand "worship me" as the first commandment? That is the first commandment in the 10 commandments. In addition, when Christ gives only two commandments, the first one is to kowtow to god.

What would be your "Main Rule" for your creation?

I get up 1 morning with my 2 year old daughter. Outside is earily dark. All of a sudden the sun falls. In my house I cant see with the brightness. I cover my daughter in my arms with a blanket and close all curtains. In the mirror the whites of my eyes are red with blood. I know something terrible has happened. I know alot of people are dead. I turn on the news. I try to call my family. It is so bright still I can barely see. My sister runs through the door with her 1 year old son. covered in blankets to guard them from the sun which feel like it is just over our house. I stand at the telly, hoping for news. I hear a voice in my head telling me "PRAY TO THE VIRGIN MARY, THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END, TELL PEOPLE TO PRAY TO THE VIRGIN MARY THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END" I am not overly religious. I dont go to church but have a strong believe in religion. Im not a global warming freak. I dont think of it often and I havent seen it on tv either. I woke up crying and shaking. What u think

Does anyone know the names of the people who were disruptive in the Senate Chambers when the Hindu prayer was read?

Most Christians that I know would not make a scene like those people did. And I'm finding it hard to believe that an actual senator would make a scene like that either.

Are other people besides senators allowed in the Senate Chambers and is it possible that those visitors were the ones being disrespectful?

Today, while many love jehovah and disregard Christ, others love christ and disregard jehovah; while some recognize the Holy Spirit, others debate and divide themselves because of The Trinity. Now then, I ask you: Why do you drift away from one another, when everyone recognizes the true God? If you love Jehovah, you are within the truth. If you love Christ, He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. If you love the Holy Spirit, you approach the Light. You have only one God, only one Father. There are not three Divine persons who exist in God, but only one Divine Spirit, who has manifested Himself in three different phases to mankind, and mankind in its smallness, while penetrating the profound, believed to have seen three persons when only one Spirit exists. (what do you think)

Can anyone describe--and give evidence of--any universal truths outside of these four claims:

Time exists.
Space exists.
Energy exists.
Matter exists.

Isn't everything else just a derivative of one or more of these four things? Please, only include what you believe to be universal truth that can be substantiated with empirical evidence or logical reasoning. I'm willing to hear out any long-winded examination.

If so, then is Judas Iscariot actually the only person who listened to Jesus, other disciples denied him etc. Did Jesus not say that he would be betrayed, therefore Judas did what he was told right?
